I don't think cotto cares about the tax situation that much. he has plenty of fights at msg.

I don't know why most so called chair experts think this fight will not happen in Vegas. To much money to be made for it not to. Cotto is not ******. This fight gets made in Vegas. The problem will be getting the right weight, split and date. And that is what Cotto is in titled to control. Everything else is a formality. No way Cotto demands MSG taxes out of the ass in NY for the amount of money that will be generated.

I gravitate mostly on the 140-147 division, so I don't have a dog in any other division. But that's exactly what I would do if were in Canelo's team - start talking to Golovkin's manager and try to make some initial progress about the fight. Forget Cotto TOTALLY at this point.

Because that's where his market is at. Cotto would not sell out the MGM fighting a fighter without a big following the way he would at MSG.

This fight makes much bigger money for both fighters in Vegas for Cinco de Mayo wknd. This cannot be disputed.

Neither Canelo nor his team wants anything to do with Golovkin and everybody knows that!

That's just an opinion. Both Canelo and Cotto can dictate the terms when it comes to GGG. Golovkin wants them both. The weight can be negotiated. Canelo can use his name to neutralize Cotto's diva attitude. It doesn't have to happen now... Promoters/managers/boxers do this all the time, Arum, Schaefer, Hearns throwing Rios' name, Mayweather mentioning Alexander in the Guerrero negotiation, etc. It's nothing new, brah.

Canelo may not sell out the MGM with a lesser known opponent. But Cotto has totally sold out The Garden with lesser known opponents. I've seen from personal experience.

Vegas makes sense for Canelo. New York makes sense for Cotto. These two facts are what cannot be disputed. Vegas is a significant advantage for Canelo. New York is a significant advantage for Cotto, not much for Canelo.

Unless the fight happens on another weekend other than 5 de Mayo. MGM will not give the date to anyone unless Mayweather step down.
