Don't get me wrong I think Cotto is a more stablished fighter than Canelo, but ask me this, when has Cotto broke the 1 million PPV buys by his own? having a B-side fighter.

    Cotto vs Mayweather 1.5
Canelo vs Mayweather 2.2 (shattered live gate and ppv revenue of all time)

    Cotto vs Martinez 300k (estimated)
Canelo vs Lara 300 k (estimated)

Cotto vs Anyone else not named Floyd or Pacquiao = never broke 1 million
Canelo vs Anyone else not named Floyd = never broke the 1 million

Concluson= Cotto is the more established but not by that much. 60/40 at the most in favor of Cotto, If he wants more he doesn't want the fight.

      @ this.

Saying Vegas is neutral ground, is as crazy as saying New York is neutral ground.

Agreed. I was there. Loudest sporting event I have ever been too. You literally could not talk to the person next to you when the crowd roared. But on the other hand they were selling tickets for 10 bucks. Or every cheap from what I heard. Easy to fill up a stadium at low ball prices.

If a fighter has a strong base fan base they will show up to their fights for example like when Hatton fought Mayweather or Pacquiao in Vegas. You act like Puerto Ricans aren't willing to travel to Vegas to see their dude fight. Get real, it's neutral compared to other places.

Some will travel. But Vegas will be packed and dominated by Mexicans in the arena. Puerto Ricans will be the minority. Likewise, in New York, Puerto Ricans will dominate the crowd, and Mexicans will be the minority.

These two areas are not neutral ground whatsoever.

This is the same Cotto that fought Trout for $1 million at at time he didn't even need to fight Trout. And why? Because Trout had a ****** belt that he shouldn't had even had in the first place. That isn't a guy who always has money as his top top priority.

Vegas favors Canelo so much that it's not even funny. Fat chance that Cotto agrees to that. Cotto coming into the ring like he's the challenger? It's going to be comical the way the negotiations unfolds. Don't be surprised if this fight doesn't happen because they can't agree to a venue alone, amongst other things.

And also, the Barclays or MSG can likely MATCH whatever the MGM is offering. The Barclays outbid the MGM for Mayweather vs. Maidana 1 for example.
U got a link for that?

Just know that the Barclay's were pushing extremely hard to land a Mayweather fight. They've made bids on more than one fight, huge offers. I don't have much links of relevance, but here is one discussing it a bit:

Barely two weeks since Floyd Mayweather Jr. outpointed Marcos Maidana to unify welterweight world titles, the pound-for-pound king has set his next fight date.

Although Mayweather defeated Maidana by majority decision in one of the toughest fights of his career on May 3 at the MGM Grand - where he has fought nine times in a row -- he gave strong consideration to accepting an offer to fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Ellerbe said that Mayweather would again consider fighting in New York for the first time in his career this fall.

"[Barclays Center chief executive] Brett [Yormark] and those guys at the Barclays Center made a tremendous offer for the Maidana fight and I'm sure they'll be looking to be in the Floyd Mayweather business again come September, but the MGM is Floyd's home and they are always the leading candidate," Ellerbe said.
