They ALL will suffer equally and hurt each others PPV Buys and stunt what those fights can truly make if they're not on the same damn date
Further Proof that the sport of boxing really don't have fans of the sport they just have fans of Boxers. It would be ****** to have 2 PPV Boxing Events on the same day, first of all boxing doesn't have many fans as it is especially in the US and to then SPLIT the fans...NOBODY BENEFITS!
Still don't see it happening, somebody will move, could be Mayweather, could Oscar/Canelo or Cotto wanting to do the fight in June on his day, I doubt either fighters, networks or promotion will ruin their money like that, FOR WHAT EXACTLY?Comment

They chose a PPV date and backed down when the bigger fight presented itself.
The PPV distributor won't cannibalize its own product.
When was the last time two huge boxing PPVs went up against each other? Oh wait, you can't show me an example.
Boxing journalists don't count but your random speculation does? Put up real money and bet. I'd wager whatever amount you can afford that they will not go head to head.Last edited by RSBonos; 10-07-2014, 10:48 PM.Comment

The site kills the url but it's from ring magazine.com from this septemberMark Taffet, HBO***8217;s pay per view guru, said if a conflict arose where Mayweather and Alvarez decided to go head-to-head they would have discussions with the pay-per-view distributors to determine what course of action to take. No one involved would want to split the audience. There have been competing shows on the same date on the competing cable networks and even in the same town, but there hasn***8217;t been competing pay-per-view shows.

The UFC has done PPV's on the same night as a boxing PPV's as early as 2010. It's not out of the realm of possibility that HBO will go up against showtime. It hasn't happened in the past because showtime wasnt really relevant as HBO but now they have mayweather at the tail end of his career. Everything is speculation at this point on either ends but until actually honchos from the cable providers actually say something no one really knows. Including the boxing journalists, you, and I.They chose a PPV date and backed down when the bigger fight presented itself.

UFC and boxing have different audiences. The only time it happened in boxing was Tarver-Hopkins HBO PPV going up against an independent Top Rank PPV of Cotto-Malignaggi. Nothing on the scale of what you're talking about in this thread. The UFC has done PPV's on the same night as a boxing PPV's as early as 2010.
