I'm just skeptical they will invest a lot of money into boxing and Im not going to get my hopes up. I think the supposedly four regular NBC cards is really cool though and thats the gold ticket. If Haymon can deliver big fights, exciting fights, on those dates and pull in strong ratings, that could change s lot of things. But if he f ucks around and puts like Lara vs Ishe Smith or some crap on those dates then he'll do more damage than good.
I do agree they are skeptical which is why they are taking this very low risk approach. If it works though they will be begging Haymon to stay and he will juice them hard or walk to FS1. It is the drug dealer approach the first hit is free, if the ratings come NBCSN will be hooked and if not NBS someone else will play if the ratings are good.

The key is ratings and the best way to make ratings is exciting fights, really the names are secondary if the fights are entertaining.

Man I just don't wanna listen to Larry Merchant moan and gripe about a sport he hates for 12 solid rounds, and Lampley trying to figure out if he should go for an Emmy or a Pulitzer prize everytime someones mouthpiece falls out.

Right, the ratings are key. The problem is Haymon's track record of match making or whatever has always been low risk fights for his fighters. The only good fights it seems are fights that are ordered by sanctioning bodies like Matthysse vs Garcia for example. I dunno, maybe he'll flip things and suddenly be about making the best, most entertaining fights, but again, judging by his track record that doesn't seem to be how he does things. I hope he proves me wrong and I'll echo Duva's statement that I hope he doesn't blow it.

Yeah, cause putting everything aside on how you feel about the man he is representing boxing and this is boxing chance to get back on network television, so I hope he doesn't blow it aswell.
