I'm not even surprised why Haymon fighters rarely fight each other. Espinoza can't afford such fights. It's not like these guys are huge enough to draw in millions of viewers. Thurman's last fight, for example, didn't do well in the ratings. They probably won't even break even on such investments.

Where was everyone when HBO went thecwhoke summer without cards? Showtime as a whole has had more cars than HBO this entire year. But Showtime sucks. No boxing is what's sucking . Stop being fan boys.

If I recall correctly, everyone was saying HBO was dead.

Yea point is the hysteria and the fanboys are ridiculous. Boxing had a very down year, and that's BOTH major networks.

Showtime does not demand the same quality matchup and opponents as HBO. Most of their fights are to showcase a star against a picked but not to dangerous opponent. It is the main reason some fighters have left HBO and the money they pay.. Hopefully they learn fans are interested in competitive matchups more than they are in just name stars padding their record.

I don't even get this thing about Haymon fighters getting paid more than fighters from other promotional companies. Yeah, right. Look at the result. It's ****** when you think about longer term projections.

It's not like ALL of them do. Most of them rarely have fights and get paid significantly less. Bottom line is, the loot is not spread and divided proportionately. Only the top fighters get paid in large sums, but not the rest. Which means there's nothing left for them. Making more fights becomes a struggle. There's no money left.

The reason is Showtime put all of its eggs in the Golden Boy Promotions basket and now Oscar has taken the basket and run away. ODLH turned on his friend, Stephen Espinoza, just like he did with Richard Schafer.

Showtime will come back in 2015 and provide some quality shows with quality opponents. None of them will include Canelo Alvarez, but they will be better than any boxing match that Alvarez participates in in 2015.

That is true. HBO provided just as many one-sided crappy fights as Showtime has in 2014. The difference is that Showtime had the potential to provide better quality fights. Showtime had the entire Golden Boy 140-154 pound stable at their disposal, plus Bernard Hopkins and a few fighters in the lighter weights. However, they did not feature any of these boxers in quality fights against each other.
