Beltran doesn't even have a belt, this isn't even a unification, I don't see how anyone can consider Beltran/Crawford as the lineal champ..
I don't see Crawford staying at lightweight much longer. Definitely not long enough to bother with Bey, Abril, Vazquez, etc. He could easily move up to 140 right now.

Yeah, I see crawford at 140 by 2015.. Him vs algieri, ruslan, possible a golden boy fighter like Lucas or Peterson

Lineal titles just being handed out now. Would be so funny if the obvious gift is stolen by Beltran.

These lil arguments are funny. The lineal title don't mean ****. Often times, its just another "belt." When the universally recognized class of the light heavyweight division was passed from Roy Jones, to Tarver, to Glen Johnson and back, to Hopkins, and finally to Calzage who retired to end that title's lineage. The actual LINEAL title was passed between Darius Michalczewski, who lost it to RJ victim Julio Gonzalez, who lost it to Zsolt Erdei, who took the damn thing to Europe and never fought anybody who mattered. And that's just one of many examples of how the lineal title is pointless based on who has it. Ask all these lil Floyd haters on here how important that lineal title Floyd won from Baldomir is.

I know what you mean but often times you have some guy trying to claim how great a fighter is because he was the lineal champion.

Unfortunately the lineal title is being given out like some cheap hooker. Not to prove who is the best but to hype up certain fighters.

Nothing is being handed out. Lineage is the established when the 1 fights the 2. Every credible rankings system has Crawford and Beltran at 1 and 2. And rightfully so.

I think you missed my point in my original post. A true lineal title can't be "given out." Its not an "official" title. So nobody has the authority to hand out a lineal title. It just kinda understood. There's no set critera to appointing a lineal title. Again, its kinda just understood. For example. Pacquiao won the lineal jr welterweight title by beating Hatton, who beat Tsyzu. I'm sure their are varying opinions on when Tsyzu started the lineage. Most would probably say the Judah fight. Either way, that lineage stopped when Pac never fought in the division again. Most feel Danny Garcia has started a new title lineage. Some feel that that lineage started when he beat Khan, mainly because Ring magazine named him champ after that fight. But the Ring mag title isn't always the lineal title. If that title lineage stays intact for a good period of time. I think most would feel he cemented himself as lineal champ by beating Matthysse. Establishing a new "lineal champ" isn't something I spend a lotta time thinking about. Guess it would down to cleaning a division out on how I consider a new lineage is started in my own little boxing universe.

You always babble on about nothing. He will be lineal champ and the clear top fighter at 135. Its not that hard to understand
