Yup. That's why I said earlier that at that point, he was no longer a boxing analyst giving his professional opinion.

Analysts don't get THAT freaking emotionally involved. It's weird, man.

i dont think he does. i feel like if pac hasnt personally met or sparred with a fighter he probably doesnt know who he is. i think pac is pretty oblivious to a lot of the boxing community

Yeah I do to. I'd be willing to bet money that he didn't even know who Algieri or Rios were before he fought them. He probably literally learned about them when Bob handed him the contract. Hell, probably the same thing with Bradley for that matter.

If somebody showed him a pic of Malignaggi he'd probably think it was a cast member from the Sopranos.

Yeah, he was talking as a boxing fan. I wish more analysts did that when they were off air.

            yea.

kinda like when he went on that tirade years ago that was caught on video about house fighters being protected with cherry picked fights only to defend one of the worst cherry picks in boxing history in garcia vs salka.

he's a hypocrite at the end of the day and lost his status as a righteous honest boxing fan. he lost his moral high ground selling out to floyd and al haymon.

just like you as a poster. you used to be held in good regard as an honest unbiased boxing fan.

suddenly you went full ******, and just like paulie are now relegated to shilling for floyd, al haymon and hating on manny.

            cong****.

I gotta respectfully disagree, bro. It's one thing having a casual boxing convo off the air, but he was being taped and interviewed. Was it a professional interview on national television or some ****? No, but it was being recorded nonetheless.

He's a boxing analyst now. That's his career. He should be held to higher standards than that of a "boxing fan" and be a little bit more professional. Imagine if Jim Lampley got that emotional talking about Floyd in an interview of that nature, lmao.

Malignaggi is being himself and I can understand where he's coming from because at times I'm dumbfounded because I'm also of the belief that Pacquiao doesn't have much of a chance and so I tend to get a little emotional talking about that fight. The only thing I disagree with Malignaggi is his questioning of Pacquiao not believing in himself, Pacquiao is a confident person.

I think we also need to acknowledge the fact that Malignaggi has to deal with Pacquiao fans through social media on the daily, that has to stressful.

Lol. But that's the great thing about boxing. It isn't like other sports where the analyst has to be real careful about what they say when expressing an opinion. Paulie is the fighter analyst so I don't really put him in the same lane as Lampley or Merchant (although both have shared very strong opinions while being interviewed). I put him more in the Roy Jones, Ward, fighter/commentator category. And those guys freely express themselves. People may not agree with his opinion, but it's good to see someone get hyped over a fight. We're on a message board here but let's face it, we've all gotten animated just like this talking boxing with friends. Nothing wrong with that; it's the sport we love and Paulie is a naturally animated guy.
