It's funny how people think they know about someone else's internal relationship with God just because that person likes material things on the outside... A religious person like Manny should know better... smh

Pac really can't stop talking about Floyd. He better quit concentrating on Floyd and focus on Algeri, before this becomes another one of his cherry picks that goes south.WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao has advised his career rival, WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., to pay less attention to material things and focus his energy on God.
In the last few days, Mayweather and Pacquiao have been trading barbs on the social networks. Mayweather believes Pacquiao "is broke" and searching for "a payday." Mayweather is often criticized because he regularly posts photos of his money and flaunts his wealth.

You are the one who has not sampled society. Mental and physical anguish comes from ALL walks of life. Someone who is unemployed but has no major physical ailments is in a better situation than someone who works 12 hour days in all weather and at 40 has a body that is breaking down and constantly ill. As is the case where some family has food stamps and just gets by is better off than a high powered wealthy person who doesn't realize he is about 6 months off from a life changing heart-attack or stroke and will never be the same and is up all night losing sleep and basically killing himself for his next big payday. There are extremes on BOTH sides of the economic scale who are in dire straights. Money IS NOT a protection against ANYTHING to due with health, stress, and death. And bad health and heavy stress are not exclusive to anyone, not matter how much or how little money they have. The know fact is that the percentage of those who have or lack happiness is 49% to 51%. That's just plain old common sense. You have not sampled society enough then. Someone who has been unemployed gets introduced into tons of problems, from being evicted out of their home, lack of food, nutrition, stress, depression, etc. Something that didn't exist when they had a job, in essence money. People die everyday simply because they lack money (they can't afford the medical bill, etc). It's unfortunate.
Again, money itself doesn't bring happiness to your doorstep. But being it's at the core of a functioning society, you cannot live happily without it either. You need just enough wherever you are, to give balance to your life. It is mutually dependent, unless you're one of those who are self-sufficient (indigenous, have your own farm, off-the-grid type of people, etc). Money is a protection against unhappiness, prevents many issues, even though it doesn't necessarily bring happiness either.Last edited by richardt; 09-29-2014, 12:54 PM.Comment

It's not a guaranteed protection against unhappiness. It just prevents many problems that would happen otherwise, which would bring you unhapiness. Let's see you give away all your money and live happily without the cash. Please show and prove, lead us by example if that's what you really believe. You are the one who has not sampled society. Your examples aren't even comparable in the least. Having money won't remove all problems, but it will prevent many problems that will otherwise present itself. It is a protection, but it won't protect you against everything obviously. And being unemployed is not an extreme, is a common situation. Whereas the other example you presented is an uncommon one. Unemployment is very common, especially in recent years.Comment

What's funny to me is that Pac and his team have been bashing Mayweather for weeks, and Floyd responds with "3 ways to sleep" and "Pac is Broke" which happens to be true, unlike the lies that came from his camp. And now Pac's little feelings are hurt, and responds with "he should fear God". What makes Pac think he doesn't?Comment

I've seen tight-nit families with little money but tons of love vs families where the father travels 90% of the time and the mother is sick with loneliness for the absentee father. Nice house, two cars, no father to see his children grow up.Comment

My examples are perfect, you just don't understand analogies. I clearly show you both sides of the spectrum show that money is not what creates and develops happiness. NO ONE is saying that being completely broke with not a penny leads to happiness or lack therof. Who said ANYTHING about having nothing and being homeless in other words zero resources? But would you rather be broke and healthy where you may some day be able to provide, or would you rather be wealthy and in pain all the time? It's called stress levels vs outlook. Some people with money are stressed all the time, still have fights with family, still have heavy stress and some with little money often have an emotional support system that is more real and based on sharing and intimacy. That proves that happiness is generated in the mind. That's why rich and all alone can cause deep depression that is EQUAL to poverty when it comes to mental and emotional health. You TOTALLY missed that point. I never said money cant make your lifestyle more comfortable than poverty, this is about the illusive HAPPINESS, not environmental comfort or basics! Get it? Got it? Good! It's not a guaranteed protection against unhappiness. It just prevents many problems that would happen otherwise, which would bring you unhapiness. Should forget Mayweather for now and focus on Algeiri. Then post fight if he wins, then you unleash on him instead of the Typical "IT'S UP TO MY PROMOTER BOB ARUM".
This goes for Mayweather as well, you have a lot of say on social media but when people ask you about Pacquiao as your Press Conferences you are ***in LOST FOR WORDS
I have no problem with Pacquiao being Religious, NOT ONE BIT! Whatever he is doing and who ever he prays to...IT WORKS FOR HIM! Been very successful in his career! I don't know what Mayweather believes in or his relationship with GOD but he been saying for YEARS that he is "GOD GIFTED" and he always say "GOD HAS BLESSED ME"Last edited by sicko; 09-29-2014, 01:13 PM.Comment

I didn't miss any point. What I said from the beginning is that you need just enough money to enable happiness, generally. Everyone needs a certain amount of money to be happy. You don't need to be rich, which you seem to allude to all the time. But I've never alluded to anyone needing to be rich. Just that everyone needs some money (basically enough to take care of basic necessities) in order to live a happy life. Therefore money and happiness is mutually dependent.Comment

No, many (not all)need a certain amount of money to be comfortable, not happy. As does those who have emotional needs. You also need your health, your peace of mind and comfort is both environmental and non-environmental and one type of comfort is not favored over another or a better precursor to happiness than another. Pain, discomfort, outlook, desolation, and a host of other anguishes are not just tied to money and are independent of money. Discomfort comes is many facets of living. Money does not protect you from "many issues that would cause unhappiness" it protects you from certain levels of discomfort, that is all. Again, happiness is a state of mind. There is a reason why research has shown that happiness is based on many conditions, some economical, some non-economical, some physical, some mental.I didn't miss any point. What I said from the beginning is that you need just enough money to enable happiness, generally. And money itself won't bring happiness, it just protects you from many issues that would bring unhappiness. But not all issues.
