and answering the question. i think pacquiao would be too much for ward to handle. He wont knockout pacquiao, so he has to win on points. the only ones who beat him on points, barely, returned fire with fire and took a whole lot of punishment to win.

you can frustrate pacquiao by using footwork and try to potshot him, because he knows **** about cutting the ring off, but you cant really win rounds against him that way. the only thing you are doing is making him look bad while losing. (mosley, bradley I)

Another factor that you have to consider is, that even though ward has a pretty good resume, he still didnt face someone who resembles pacquiao in any way or even someone who is significantly faster then him.

Ward has a similar style to hopkins and hopkins stylistic nightmare are boxers who are too fast (roy jones, taylor) or are fast and throw punches in bunches (calzaghe)

Someone said wards infight game would be a problem for pacquaio, but i dont think so. pacquiaos feet are way too fast to catch him for a prolonged fight on the inside. in his prime he darted in and out of the distance all the time and it was difficult to follow him at all.

Current versions: Easy Ward UD.
Prime versions: 55-45 for Ward or something like that. I don't think that Manny would have the same workrate as against Cotto, Mosley, ODLH, etc... Ward is the best in take away his opponenets weapons. He would also frustrate the hell out of Pacquaio and make him quiet gunshy (compare to his normal self). So I give the nod to Ward. Too smart, too technical and too well rounded (good from every range) + his power (although he hasn't got a lots of KO-s) was enough to make the likes of Kessler and Froch to respect him (those head slapping jabs...) If Froch, who is one of the toughest guys in the sport with at least as good chin as Pac's couldnt just walk through him neither would Pacquaio.
