Indeed. I realise this sort of thing washes fine with many historical zealots.
But I also know that these days such tripe isn't taken as gospel anymore. Most people require reasonable doubt. So happens that these statements don't hold up to criticism even slightly.
Nobody free thinking can possibly watch Brewster and then Louis and conclude that Louis could actually win.
What's more, even just a cursory examination shows Lamon Brewster fought much better competition than Joe Louis.
They were much larger.
And they had much better records.
Joe Louis never once fought in his entire career anybody as hard chinned, as power punching and as skilled combined as Lamon Brewster.
If you can argue against that last statement^^^ (and I know it would be false) I would like to know who the hell you had in mind.
