Bump: SMith lost by a wide yet very controversial decision. Most people saw it a lot closer, especially a ridiculous card of 119-109

C'mon... This guy wasn't convincing at all. Abraham was a bit lazy but when helethis hands go hebounced Smith plenty of times. Froch and Groves are also hit pretty hard but they are also way more active. Groves would murder him again, so would Froch if they would meet.

I'm interested because Smith looked among the more talented fighters on that Contender show, which had some vets. No idea why he punked out. Wanna see how he turns out
He didn't quite 'punk out'. He won his fight but had the lowest points score or something and also had a cut which meant he couldn't continue anyway.

          lol..

smith is a decent fighter. the oldest of the smith brothers who made history by holding several domestic titles within the family all at once. he has been in some big domestic fights with the likes of george groves and james degale too.

domestic level fighter tbh, surprised he went the distance with abraham as he was stopped by both groves and degale. none the less i find it odd that someone who follows the sport wouldnt have heard of him. you probably have heard of him on other occasions, but he doesnt stand out as a fighter and has such a common name you probably just didnt take notice..

Both Groves and Degale have already knocked out Smith.

Groves knocked him out in 2 rounds.

True, true but he's a much better fighter than he showed against both Groves and Degale. Just short of world title level, I always thought that if he could put it all together on one night he could pick up a title. He fought like a man posessed last night, fair play to him. Gotta admit that his mean mugging at the weigh in was shades of Gary Lockett, but my lord, what a determined effort.

                  Got to agree.

Paul's a stand up guy, he deserved better last night. I had it a draw but I knew he'd have no chance on the cards.

A shame, would have loved to see him get it.

My feeling about it was that if Smigga made an error, it wasnt pressing when Abraham kept backing off after eating those body shots, but that said, If Abraham was gonna KO him then thats probably how it would have happened. Easy for me to say he should press, I'm not the one in there taking those shots. I think he had Abraham hurt on numerous occasions but maybe didnt realise. Dunno, hope he gets another shot as he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met in the sport.

Chances of him getting a rematch are extremely slim.

They want to make Abraham vs the Sturm-Stiegletz winner plus it was a voluntary.

I met Paul at the Froch-Kessler 2 fight, he was very nice to me aswell.

He's in a terrible position now, he's obviously not getting Ward, Froch or Dirrell. I think that was his only chance.
