Good hand-speed, tough, and has good stamina BUT he isn't what I would call a "good" boxer. He always comes forward and that's not what a boxer does. Thurman is a style nightmare for an aging fighter in the same way that Chris Algeri is. If Manny is old come November, he will lose that fight. No worries though, he is looking GOOD right now and is going to kick CA's ass! But you get my point.

he was explosive in the next fight because he was fighting a punching bag name alfredo angulo

And nobody is saying beating Chaves means he's the best boxer in the world. Nobody even hypes up Thurman, everyone accepts that he hasn't beaten any elite opponents, but he has beaten some good C level fighters and done it well, so he passes the eye test.

The reason he hasn't fought higher level of competition is because nobody wants to fight him. He's been openly turned down by multiple fighters in the top 10.

Maidana pulled out of the Thurman fight with two weeks to go because Thurman had 'too many KOs' or something like that, that's what Maidana's team said. The fact that he signed to fight him and then pulled out is what makes it a duck. Also it's not like he pulled out to fight some elite fighter for a big payday...he fought Soto Karass instead.

I like Thurman, but people keep giving Thurman passes because he is vocal and says he wants to fight the big fighters. He is speaking a good game, but actions speak louder than words. In reality he is cherry picking like all the other fighters, but since people want him to be the Mayweather slayer he gets a pass. He does whatever Al Haymon tells him to do, so I don't take what he says serious.

Thurman has consistently call out the bigger names, saying numerous times he wants to fight them, and not once has he ever turned them down when they were presented to them so no, he's not cherry picking and you have no proof that he is.

Like I said he speaks a good game. Its a good show of bravado, but up until this point he has not fought a good fighter. He is posturing and making his name known. While he does that he accepts whatever fight Haymon tells him to accept.

If Thurman is fighting whoever they put in front of him, then how is he cherry picking? He's already been turned down by guys like Maidana and Guerrero so in the meantime, he's just fighting whoever else is available. Saying he's cherry picking is ridiculous.

Thurman would make the same mistake that ghost and canelo made and will try and box with Floyd instead of being balls to the wall aggressive like Castillo 1, hatton, Maidana 1..

Thurman usually fights at a laid back pace unless his opponent tries to turn it into a slugfest and then Thurman looks to bomb away...
We have yet to see Thurman in first a slow paced methodical boxer like Floyd, Hopkins, Vasquez and for good reason.. In a technical fight, Thurman would get badly exposed.. Thurman needs ****ers like Chavez, rios, Diaz, porter, etc to look good..
Match him up vs a guy like Floyd and Thurman won't get lured into a slugfest but instead be in a slow paced fight and he will slowly get picked apart and beaten.. Just like ghost, canelo,

That's why Khan handles his ass.If Khan has learnt anything under Hunter it's to just box boring and methodically think for the whole period of the fight.

There is so much potential with Thurman if he's moved right. That said...I keep having flashbacks of Jermain Taylor when I watch him.
