02/01/2014 UFC 169 Barao vs Faber II 230,000

      02/22/2014 UFC 170 Rousey vs McMann 340,000

      03/15/2014 UFC 171 Hendricks vs Lawler 300,000

      04/26/2014 UFC 172 Jones vs Teixeira 350,000

      05/24/2014 UFC 173 Barao vs Dillashaw 215,000

06/14/2014 UFC 174 Johnson vs Bagautinov 115,000(Rumor it did 85k or under) source Dave Meltzer podcast)

      07/05/2014 UFC 175 Weidman vs Machida 545,000

08/02/2014 UFC 176 Aldo vs Mendes II Canceled

08/30/2014 UFC 177 Dillashaw vs Soto (rumor going around right now is 85k or lower)

This weekends fight will also probably do under 200k.

The fastest growing sport in the world is doing the worst numbers they have done in 10 years, all of a sudden 925k and 350k don't look so bad.

Numbers are down across the board.
Thanks for these posts and taking the time to share these facts.

Canelo's numbers are solid numbers! ****, Corrales-Castillo 2 did under 200k. Up until he fought DLH, Floyd averaged about 350 PPV buys, and that was against (at the time) marquee names like Gatti and Judah.

Cotto, the #3 PPV guy in the sport, is no stranger to the 200ks; he did 250 against Judah and 200 against Mayorga.

This recent tradition of having three major PPV events per year (one for Floyd, two for Pacquiao) and having them all hit a million buys was never set in stone, and now that Floyd is fighting more often, Pac's star has faded, and Canelo, Cotto, Chavez Jr, etc look to take a share of the PPV market, we might not see a lot of PPVs come close to a million unless it's an honest-to-god EVENT.

This is the true boxing war..

May is going to be a massacre, can't wait. My money is on money, that he'll outdo them in PPV.

Also Pacquiao did around 225k against Diaz before getting his big break against DLH.

People are so used to the 1m+ they forget that only Tyson/Pacquiao/Floyd have ever done those numbers consistently. Even DLH who was the P4P king only did over 1m+ 4 times in 19 PPV fights over 14 year period.

                Cotto vs. Mallignaggi - 60k.

James Toney vs. Michael Nunn - 19k

                Barrera vs. Prince - 310k

                Barrera vs. Marquez - 225k

Both sides are going to have to stack the under cards so if it does happen (which I doubt) the fans will win. I would do Mayweather vs Garcia in Vegas, and have Khan vs Brook as the co feature from Wembly, or Thurman vs Marquez or Matthysse for a vacated WBA (does Floyd really need it?)

                  Cotto vs Canelo
                  Rios vs Alvarado 3
I really don't see what they can do for the under card since most of Haymons fighters are on showtime.

I think show time has the ability to have the best overall card.

Floyd's choice of opponents has been laughable since getting that guaranteed money from showtime (except the canelo fight of course)
