I thought it was going to do more than that too...which befuddles me on how Chavez Jnr is able to live off his father's name so well
Cotto also has a lot of flops, his ppv against Mayorga only did around 200k. People **** on 300k but that's actually a very solid number, people forget that DLH only did 350k against Campas and 240k against Rivera and he's the PPV king(or was).

The problem with the Cotto vs. Martinez PPV was that Cotto hadn't rebuilt himself back enough to headline a PPV imo. He lost 2 in a row then beat Rodriguez, that wasn't enough.

The other problem was Martinez had been very inactive and his fight against Murruy only did around 550k average viewers on HBO because it was in the middle of the day.

It did good at the gate but bombed on PPV.

Classless Bitter Move By Espinoza, you lost Canelo, move on and build up new stars, Focus on Keith Thurman and other guys
After Lou, I'm thinking that 925 is just the target

Why does that matter? Just multiply by the average price of the PPV.

People think these numbers are horrible but lets look at what the UFC which killed boxing years ago(according to fanboys and misinformed media) is doing this year.

02/01/2014 UFC 169 Barao vs Faber II 230,000

                02/22/2014 UFC 170 Rousey vs McMann 340,000

                03/15/2014 UFC 171 Hendricks vs Lawler 300,000

                04/26/2014 UFC 172 Jones vs Teixeira 350,000

                05/24/2014 UFC 173 Barao vs Dillashaw 215,000

06/14/2014 UFC 174 Johnson vs Bagautinov 115,000(Rumor it did 85k or under) source Dave Meltzer podcast)

                07/05/2014 UFC 175 Weidman vs Machida 545,000

08/02/2014 UFC 176 Aldo vs Mendes II Canceled

08/30/2014 UFC 177 Dillashaw vs Soto (rumor going around right now is 85k or lower)

This weekends fight will also probably do under 200k.

The fastest growing sport in the world is doing the worst numbers they have done in 10 years, all of a sudden 925k and 350k don't look so bad.

Numbers are down across the board.

You must've gone to the same elementary school as Floyd. From the article you quoted:
HBO PPV did not put out a formal release of the numbers like it often does, but it confirmed to ESPN.com that Arum's disclosure was on the mark. The fight generated approximately $49 million in gross pay-per-view revenue.

4-5 years ago the UFC could put on any card and do a min of 300-400k. This year 2 ppv's are under 100k, that's some Hopkins vs. Dawson PPV numbers.
