He basically destroyed any credibility he might have had remaining. Nothing this idiot says should be believed.

              Never said it was true.

Just bringing context to the circle jerk of misinformation being spread.

Btw what did Arum and HBO say about Cotto vs. Martinez? Did they ever release a number?

The fight at Madison Square Garden generated approximately 350,000 buys on HBO PPV, Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, Cotto's promoter, told ESPN.com, a figure co-promoter Lou DiBella and HBO said was accurate.
Must've been misquoted or just outright making things up at ESPN

The way he reiterated the facts says a lot about being bitter. No one is forcing him to answer questions.

Strange a few days later SI reported:

NEW YORK -- Sergio Martinez’s middleweight title defense against Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden generated between 300,000 and 315,000 pay-per-view buys, according to multiple sources involved with the promotion.

Yeah but I guess Arum is the guy to go when you want the facts.

People are celebrating these fights not doing good #'s......but I fear what this means when Mayweather and Pacquiao leave.

Like them or not....they are the ONLY TWO FIGHTERS IN THE WORLD who can draw big PPV #'s on HBO or SHO against guys most any casual fan wouldn't really know.

Mayweather will do 800K at least with most anyone, Pacquiao will do at least 700K probably on US soil against nearly anyone.

When these guys are gone, who's going to be the big draw to carry boxing, like Floyd and Manny ended up being once Oscar was gone???

**** arguing about #'s and ****, I want to know who's really going to keep this sport relevant in mainstream media like Mayweather and Pacquiao have for the last 7 years or so.
