Reasons are pretty clear. He's going for the bigger money fight as Frampton's mandatory. Rigo should have fought Avalos when Top Rank first offered Rigo the fight.

He knew he stood no chance so he made a decision that a lot of scared fighters make, no big deal.

not scared fighters, smart fighters, more money, plus he probably will lose to Frampton anyway, avalos isn't that good,so if you're going to lose might as well make the most money you can losing

There's no guarantee of the Frampton fight next. Hearn is using Avalos to hold Frampton to ransom to make the Quigg fight. Either way Hearn has no intention of promoting Avalos v Rigo. So this decision doesn't surprise me.

It'll be either Quigg or Avalos but Matchroom will be promoting Frampton next.

Wasn't going to win ANYWAY, Rigondeaux has his entire Division NERVOUS, I will take bets right now that Frampton, Quiggs and Leo Santa Cruz all MOVE UP IN WEIGHT instead of fighting Rigondeaux
