Well that's just definitely not true.

Forrest wasn't that hard of a puncher.

Exactly. I keep hearing about Mayorga's "welterweight chin". Who did he fight at welterweight? Forrest, Six Heads Lewis lol and Cory Spinks.....

Officially a member and not a lurker anymore!

I was initially going to say Margs but then I kind of thought about it for a minute and I think Mayorga totally ices him. Margs is just a bit easier to hit and I think Ricardo had a better punch at WW.

Don't think I would bet on this fight though, just sit back and enjoy the mayham

Prime for prime, bricks would have stopped him.

What does that even mean? Don't all fighters "let their hands go"? I didn't realise it was so easy. Makes you wonder how he was a multi time World champion. All his opponents must have just stood there and not thrown
Do you think Floyd let's his hands go? How about Hopkins.. You really don't understand what letting your hands go...

How long have you been watching boxing?

I will give you an example... Manny let them hands go vs jmm in 1,2,4 and didn't in part 3..
Canelo let his hands go vs angulo and Lara, but didn't vs Floyd..

Do you understand what it means now... It means a high punch output, not biding your time looking for openings..

Mayorga went up in weight and took 3 straight flush left hooks from Tito Trinidad, smiled laughed and danced.. That's all you need to know about mayorga's chin,,.

              Why don't you answer this..

Why did a faded old mayorga go to war with Shane for 12 rds, and in Shane's very next fight he destroyed welter champ margs with relative ease... How is that even possible if welter margs was such a monster...

Shane was never that good above 147 that's why. Not as powerful, not as fast. And I don't think Mayorga ever recovered from those three hooks from Tito.

This is why Shane beat Margarito so much easier.

1 - After the Cotto fight Margarito celebrated and gained too much weight. He spent most of his camp dieting. Mosley was probably in the best condition he had been for years.

2 - Margarito had to be distracted by the hand wraps incident and the likely consequences of it afterwards.

3 - While Mayorga has just ordinary speed, the difference between Shane's speed and Margarito's was so great that it made it a great matchup for Mosley.

Mayorga wasn't some massive volume puncher like Paul Williams though. He wasn't going to outwork Margarito who still holds the record for most punches thrown in a single fight.

Your first post just seemed to suggest if he just threw punches, he would knock out Margarito like Mosley did. A lot of people hit Margarito in the head but it took more than that for Mosley to beat him. Remember it took 8/9 rounds of sustained punishment to put a dent in Margarito. Mayorga couldn't do half of what Mosley did that night. He's a bum, man.

Mate....he was braced for the punches. That circus **** doesn't impress me.

Margarito took huge shots round after round for almost whole fights from all angles. He was hardly ever hurt.

What the hell does Mayorga-Mosley have to to with Margarito-Mosley. Just stop with the poor comparisons and triangle theories.
