Shane fought old faded mayorga and champion margs in back to back fights.. I think it's fair to compare.. And I'm not basing my opinion based solely in that

Margs and Frazier are iron chinned guys that swarmed their opponents and broke them..

But then they faced that power puncher with the rare one hitter quitter type power and got destroyed because they couldn't handle getting hit flush with that power..
How is that a bad comparison? The styles are nearly identical

Foreman was the betting underdog just like mayorga in this poll...
Their styles are not indenting at all.

And comparing Mayorga's power to Foreman's is silly.

Margarito is definitely standing up to them atleast for a while he is.

This has long fight written all over it.
      "At least for awhile"

That's the key words.. I just don't see how anyone can let mayorga land on them flush at welter and be able to win.,,

Mayorga has about zero skills, but the dude can punch like a maniac at welter.. It's the only reason he ever had success.. I feel margs will walk into it and get bombed out, similar to Frazier walking into foreman in both their fights..

Outside of Tito, mayorga is probably the best power puncher at welter in the last 20 years...
He may not be foreman, but margs isn't Frazier either.. It's a watered down version of Forman-Frazier but mayorga def has heavy hands and one punch power to catch margs coming in..

Margs can only fight coming forward and I just don't see how Ricardo doesn't bomb on this guy

Mayorga does not have that kind of power. You're overrating it ridiculously.

Yes he can punch but he's hardly a massive puncher.

There's no way Margarito gets bombed out by Mayorga.

Just stop with the Frazier-Foreman comparison it's not a good one.

To me this is an obvious long fight.

I'm not overrating anything... Name another welterweight in the last 20 years that has as much single shot power as mayorga does besides Tito and that Mexican dude that lost to james page, I forget his name..

Since 2000 mayorga is the hardest puncher at welter, and I really can't think of anyone that has one punch power that's even comparable at welter

So I don't think I'm overrating his power

Why is it an obvious long fight,,, a guy is going to come head first into a one punch power guy.. I don't think you can say it's obvious especially when margarito never faced a puncher like mayorga,, sorry but cotto, cintron, clottey Williams, are nowhere near as powerful a puncher than mayorga

Mayorga had one impressive KO in his entire welterweight career. That doesn't make him Tommy Hearns or Pipino Cuevas. A welterweight from about 15 years ago named Jose Luis Liopez hit harder than Mayorga did, and I'm not so sure guys like Maidana don't as well. Margarito may not have fought elite welters, but he fought some very tough ones and most of the time he was the last guy standing.

And how come the Frazier-foreman gets discarded like meaningless..

Sure there is a difference if caliber of the fighters, but were not talking skills, we are talking styles, and Frazier and margs are very similar and mayorga and young foreman were both big wide punchers with mean uppercuts
You can't discount the style matchups just because margs and Ricardo aren't atg like foreman and Frazier...
