I truly believe that if it was anyone other than Floyd in the ring that night the fight would have been scored for Maidana. Judges tend to give Floyd more credit than he actually deserves. He can land 2 or 3 love taps and win the round even though his opponent lands more damaging blows. Seems that they give every swing round to Floyd.

Doesn't really matter what your, my, or anyone else's opinion of what Baldomir was as a fighter. He was the champ. Lineal, universally recognized, undisputed, or any other name they have for it. That's the problem with placing a lotta stock in titles. When the title we covet falls in the hands of an underdog champion or someone we deem as less than the class of the division, we wanna disregard the belt. If we lived in an era where there was one champ per division, Floyd, Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, or anyone else we saw as better would had to beat Baldomir to be seen as the legit welterweight champ. Similar situation going on mow with the middleweight title. According to the Floyd-Baldomir logic, Evander Holyfield's first reign as heavyweight champion was a fraud.
