He doesn't even have great stamina at 154 lbs.

You can't negotiate with a boxer who just "retired".

Cotto fought Pacquiao at 145 and made weight... the fight right before Yuri Foreman. You're telling me that he couldn't make 147 after fighting Pac at 145? Come on! He just doesn't want to. He can but he doesn't like to put in the road work to cut weight. And who'd Cotto beat before fighting Floyd at his "comfortable weight of 154?" A gimpy rabbi, a shot Mayorga who smokes 8 cigarettes simultaneously, and a shot Margacheato who just couldn't cheat this time. Yeah, that's a very impressive resume at 154! Yea right!

When Floyd returned from retirement, Cotto was still with Top Rank. And a fight never was negotiated. But shortly after Cotto finally left Top Rank, a fight was negotiated and signed.

To put it into perspective. If Shane Mosley didn't leave Golden Boy and sign with Top Rank, he would have never gotten the Pacquaio fight.

Right now, there is no way Cotto can make 147 lbs. I'm not talking about years ago. I'm talking about today.

My post was referencing Floyd vs. Cotto. Why would you talk about Cotto's weight today? It doesn't take away from the fact that he was capable of making the weight at the time he fought Floyd

Cotto was no longer able to make that weight even at the time he fought Floyd. He wouldn't even agree to rematch with Pacquaio at 150 lbs if that tells you anything. He turned it down flatly, it was a major sticking point. Floyd fighting Cotto at 154 lbs, had more to do with Cotto wanting that. Even trimming down to 154 lbs is not easy for him.

Mayweather tied up Maidana all night.. and the ref broke up the action before Maidana even go in close to Mayweather...

If you really want to break it down... Pac 8 divisions..doesn't duck opponents > Floyd 5 divisions and ducks opponents

When he returned from retirement, cotto already had two losses, so he wasn't even looking at his direction.

Doesn't really matter what your, my, or anyone else's opinion of what Baldomir was as a fighter. He was the champ. Lineal, universally recognized, undisputed, or any other name they have for it. That's the problem with placing a lotta stock in titles. When the title we covet falls in the hands of an underdog champion or someone we deem as less than the class of the division, we wanna disregard the belt. If we lived in an era where there was one champ per division, Floyd, Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, or anyone else we saw as better would had to beat Baldomir to be seen as the legit welterweight champ. Similar situation going on mow with the middleweight title. According to the Floyd-Baldomir logic, Evander Holyfield's first reign as heavyweight champion was a fraud.
