I think defensive is a style...

For instance I would argue that Floyd Mayweather has defence on the lock down, and he fights using just that -> the "defence" on a number of occasions...

If he fights using defence a lot then he is a defensive fighter, thus his style is defensive, and I guess countering from the defence also...

What you nuthuggers are failing to realize is lacy is the smaller version of samuel peter. Unskilled overhyped one weapon tomato can with no experience!
Excuse me Dont go calling him a jackass, when he made some very valid statements. what makes you think that the crowd is such an advantage, over a fighters style and skill. of course the crowd makes you come alive but that is just minor.

As for toney, well. toney is a heaveyweight now. so maybe he would. but i really doubt toney could beat joe. styles make fights. and toney seemed to get owned by Micheal Nunn, even thou that was @ middle weight. before you start saying thats not valid.

        Look at the statement
        Toney would kill Calz
its so prehistoric and just shows your ignorence and lack of boxing knowledge to explain your self.

defensive is not a style, regardless of what you 'think'

Tarver's height and huge reach and power would give Joe plenty to think about. Roy had blazing speed, moreso than Joe, and Tarver was able to get the better of things.

Tarver's style doesn't nullify speed, but it does lessen the advantage a speedy guy might've had on him.
I completely agree, I think tarver's reach would be a big factor in this fight, even though I don't like him and I don't think he's THAT good. It would take another monumental performance from Joe C to win against Tarver. he's 6'3" right? that pretty big for a Lt.Heavy.

it isnt a style. it's something a fighter has a tendency to do..it's like saying dempsey was offensive, which might be true, but offensive isnt a fighting style.

there is a reason calzaghe hasnt lost for like 20 years. hes very unorthodox, and always finds a way to win. great boxers can make the necessary adjustments.

calzaghe needs to fight bernard hopkins, if anyone has the style to beat calzaghe it's bernards..roy jones is shot. he should fight the winner of hopkins-tarver which will be hopkins
