Why do you think Floyd got rid of Ellerbe? May Promotions 1st major promo and it flopped.
Before the main event 90% of the MGM seat were empty. Not good for the MGM. I have a relative who works there and he told me they had a lot of rooms available.
Then considering the cost of the PPV versus the low quality card. It's believe able that the ratings were low.
Showtime must be pissed that their investment in barely breaking even and they should put pressure on Floyd and his promotional company to provide them with a better show.Comment

I don't think you want them all to do bad because that will dry up capital investment in the sport. However if each side takes a big loss every now and then it makes them keep their eyes on the prize.
Even Bob Arum who I have a pretty large distaste for I find it funny when he craps out, like when he spent like $15 million on Rahman-Maskaev 2 (which is what he did with the money he was going to be paying Floyd who was leaving him so it was just a terrible period overall for Arum) but I don't need to see him lose like that all the time because some things he does are worthwhile. Moral of that Rahman fight is Arum hasn't played with heavyweight boxing since that day, so wishing for big loses is a double edged sword.Last edited by The Gambler1981; 09-23-2014, 11:50 AM.Comment

Just so you know MGM doesn't give a **** ass if anyone is in the arena for the fights, they care if casino patrons are in their casino, they make a lot less money with those patrons sitting in an arena. Why do you think Floyd got rid of Ellerbe? May Promotions 1st major promo and it flopped.

So do they really give a **** ass if the patrons were out on the floor ******** until the main event starts, as long as it fills up in the end which means it did draw the people in to the building.Comment
