Did Showtime's Jim Gray put the pressure on Floyd post Mayhem?

An observation a fellow boxing fan mentioned to me.

During the post fight interview with Mayweather, Showtime's Jim Gray asked Floyd about the possibility of a future fight with Manny Pacquiao. This was interesting because Pacquiao fights for rival network HBO and unless an agreement between the two Networks is in the works, Showtime has no reason or nothing to gain from mentioning an HBO fighter during their own broadcast.

Was this a sign that Showtime and HBO plan to work together and Showtime's Jim Gray was putting Mayweather on the spot?

All the stuff that has been happening lately and Floyd doesn't allow his people to talk hhhmmmm makes you wonder why. I believe the truth will come out when Floyd retires and once more Floyd will make his groupies look ****** again.

Loved Jim's questions after but the whole thing seemed sorta set up -- Floyd's answers too.

What does that mean? They were just name dropping HBO's marquee fighter to promote Mayweather's next fight?

I get what you're saying but I think Jim Grey is just tired of Mayweather dodging the fight and was just calling him out.

They name drop HBO fighters all the time and vice versa. There are always going to be opponents in your division that don't fight on your network. I don't think they consider it promoting as much as it is, what can you do?

Anyway, the question (the way he sorta came with it) seemed fairly contrived and Mayweather's two answers did too. Particularly the whole "Pacquiao has a fight to concentrate on bit." If it wasn't contrived then those were surprisingly good responses by Floyd.

I think at this point everyone has had enough..from fans to former great fighters to probably showtime itself. There's been a lot of talk recently from Manny himself which is rare but at least we know who wants the fight and who doesn't.
