Comments Thread For: Froch Says DeGale Possible, But Eyes Chavez in Vegas

IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs), 37-years-old, admitted he was not ‘excited’ about the prospect of facing IBF mandatory challenger James DeGale and is still hoping for a Las Vegas fight.

“I’ve got to sit down and speak to Eddie Hearn my promoter over the next couple of weeks,” he said.

Say what you want about Froch (arrogant, mouthy, stuck up, delusional, badass, road warrior, crude, unskilled, slugger, etc.), but this right here...

To go back to an arena and fight another British level fighter doesn't really get me excited.
... is the truth, considering what's done in the past 6 years. What motivation would he have gearing up for all that shit-talk against DeGale, on yet another British stage, when he could wait a while and headline a Las Vegas event against a U.S.-known name? I hope he doesn't acknowledge DeGale in any way. He'll no doubt whine "Froch ducked me!", but he can piss off.

He's going to have to acknowledge him pretty soon or give up his belt.

He's going to fight Degale at the 02 next January.

He basically confirmed it on IFLTV post fight.

I like the idea of Chavez Jr. because it would entertaining as hell, but I would like to see DeGale get his title shot and beat Froch.

*Meanwhile Chavez Jr is eating burgers and repeating Bob Arum doe between breaks*

So disappointed in Chavez... I'm a fan but... Get it together man. Either finish your contract like a man and then do the free agent thing for a while to see how it goes. Stop being such a diva.
