I tip my hat to him, he doesn't duck anyone and will fight everywhere, watch him going after the top 130 now, I wish he could be 122 lbs, he will fight and test Rigondeaux for sure...

Good point.. I will be the first to admit I get on guys like Floyd, manny, Marquez when I feel they are juicing but I don't discount the great fights they have given us.. Same goes for salido, and salido isn't a historically significant fighter like Floyd/manny. They are scrutinized more because your dealing with history, or "tainted history" with ped use... Salido doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of thingsComment

To think that in his first 20 pro fights he was already 11-7-2 with 5 of the 7 losses by TKO, flash forward his 57th fight he has won titles at 126 three times, now wins an Interim title at 130, has beaten the favorites a bunch of times. That's just crazy, it really is an inspirational career. Hopkins and Marquez losing their first pro fights is motivational, but I mean starting off at 11-7 with 5 losses by KO's and then coming all the way back to where he is now is just the true underdog story.Comment

Do you know how old he was when he turned pro? Juan Luis Castillo had a similar start (not as bad) and had a bunch of losses early but he turned pro at 15..To think that in his first 20 pro fights he was already 11-7-2 with 5 of the 7 losses by TKO, flash forward his 57th fight he has won titles at 126 three times, now wins an Interim title at 130, has beaten the favorites a bunch of times. That's the main reason why I believe Mexico churns out so many gritty fighters. Turning pro at 15 is insane. You have these kids fighting men in their 20's and 30's, at their physical prime punching it out with some snot nosed kid with a family to feed. Salido was a late bloomer, he had a horrid start but learned as he pushed on with his career. He might not be the most technically gifted fighter of our era, but he sure as hell is one of the grittiest and strongest willed ones.Comment
