Props to B-hop for taking this fight! Not only does this fight show that B-Hop ducks no one, but it also got the lawsuit dropped by Duva against his manager Haymon, and simultaneously helps his friend Oscar & GBP prove they are willing to make "the best fights happen." B-hop might be taking one for the team, but Kovalev can't get caught "thinking." Don't try to become B-hop, be Kovalev.Comment

Haymon isn't B-Hop's manager, he double-crossed him and was setting up Thomas Williams Jr. to fight for B-Hop's vacant title.Props to B-hop for taking this fight! B-Hop found out, and made the Kovalev fight before the deadline. The lawsuit was dropped because it was against GBP (and Sho/Haymon).Comment

I'm afraid for Hopkins but I thought Pavlik would destroy him too. However, Kovalev is a good boxer and Hopkins is much older. I hope he doesn't get hurt.Comment

For all the hype this fight is getting, I'm concerned it's going to disappoint. People are expecting either Hopkins to outclass and frustrate Kovalev like he did with Pavlik and other people are expecting Korobov to just wreck Hopkins. I'm more in the latter group, however Bernard's not one to go out like that. I see him getting hurt and looking for a DQ.Comment

My bad, I stand corrected. I got confused when I heard these things from this interview:
There was one more potential surprise offered by Hopkins, who professed admiration for Haymon, who could become part of whatever remains of his twilight as an active fighter. That statement further suggests that boxing’s ageless wonder could soon be parting ways with Golden Boy.
“I have great respect for him, and he has great respect for me, going back to the day when he came into boxing with one fighter, my friend, Vernon Forrest, `The Viper,’” Hopkins said of Haymon, the Boxing Writers Association of America’s 2013 Manager of the Year. “I was on the other side from him when Al was representing Jermain Taylor.
“I don’t have a contract with Al Haymon, but I wouldn’t mind having one because he knows the business and he knows how to make the moves to get you where you need to be.”

Still, B-Hop does deserve credit for making the unification fight. He could've defended against another no-name mandatory.Comment
