Fight wasn't even close or debatable, disgusting really.
WhT can be done about the judges?

I like the idea of having 5 or so judges...if 4 guys have it 115-113 and the 5th has it 119-109 the other way, you know something's wrong and could toss the card I guess. Also, I remember Joe Cortez saying he thought having the judges on seats above the ring would be better for them viewing the action rather then ringside where the angle is not so good depending on where the action is taking place..it's long overdue that something happens.Unless you can come up with a system that totally removes the human element from judging fights then you can't fix judging fights. All sports with judging inherently have this issue but things like figure skating, gymnastics or diving is that you are comparing something you know ahead of time with what is suppose to be perfect.
Boxing there is nothing to really compare to and really what is worth more 2 or 3 light punches or 1 really hard punch. I have no idea how you can even begin to regulate that problem as there is no right answer and it could be different in fight to fight.
I think they could change they system a bit so a blow out round (with no knockdown) and a close round are not scored the exact same. Half points would be what I would suggest but that still does not get at the issue you want in that there will be real agreement with scoring.
Also you could have like 5 judges instead of 3 and take out the high and low for each guy then average them and have like a pool of 10 judges you can randomly pick to judge the fights on fight night. I think you will still run into issues with variation of scores though for seeing the exact same fight.Comment

I don't think anything will be done but those ideas are the best I have heard about the actual scoring of fights which I feel is a major issue. a lot of fans watch the sport and even if they know how scoring works if they see a guy getting beat on for 1 round then come back and edge the next round most don't feel it is an even fight. Really if you think about it that should not be even as those two rounds were clearly not equal.
I don't like reversing decision because that is a slippery slope, if something nefarious went on I could see changing a fight to a no contest but only if someone was violating rules.
Incompetence sadly I can't say that should happen even though it is sad when a guy puts forth that much effort to have it snatched from them.
It is certainly not an easy issue to solve.Comment

I think I spent 90% of the fight yelling "let them fight bayless you MF'er" haha..gotta watch the replay Saturday, I always have a different perspective the second time through.Comment

Changing their angle would be good as they sit really close, but that also makes it easy to miss some things especially sitting below the ring with ropes and possibly the guys in the ring in the way.I like the idea of having 5 or so judges...if 4 guys have it 115-113 and the 5th has it 119-109 the other way, you know something's wrong and could toss the card I guess. Like I said if I did 5 judges you always throw the high and low for each guy, you still come to the same 3 scores we always had.
You could also have the two extra judges watch on TV, which is a vastly different angle and shows the fight the audiences is seeing so at least two scores would be inline with what the fans see. Right now the judges don't see anything like the fight we get to see so it makes sense that the scores might not look right.
Plus judging fights is not exactly easy and a fight like Bey-Vasquez is especially hard to score, judges are human and they have to pay close attention and a fight like that had to be taxing mentally and someone might have just mailed it in especially after a while.Comment

I think C.J. Ross mailed in a couple cards lol..she actually filled them out at home, went to the arena with an envelope with a stamp on it and handed it to the ref after the fightChanging their angle would be good as they sit really close, but that also makes it easy to miss some things especially sitting below the ring with ropes and possibly the guys in the ring in the way.
