One of the worst ref performances I've ever seen. There was a time when they weren't even in a clinch and Bayless broke it up

That's why Floyd isn't a fighter. Not letting your opponent punch by holding their arms isn't fighting. Kell Brook, BH, anyone can do that if you are afraid enough.

well like so many of fights in modern boxing and especially so many Mayweather fights, ultimately it is a very shallow victory. The question is how would have Chino done in a rematch and the answer is we don't know. Yes Floyd came with a different strategy and so did Chino but the ref was a huge factor. Inside fighting was not allowed here. No warning to Floyd for holding.

If Floyd had been warned and point deducted eventually, and Chino had been allowed to fight with his free hand, we could have had scene a completely different fight. Nobody knows.

So what does this victory mean? Did Floyd clear anything up from the first fight? Not so much since Bayless stole his opportunity to do so. Bayless ruined it for both fighters although obviously what he did was good for Floyd and bad for MM. Bayless ruined it for boxing fans.

I am not saying Floyd would have lost. But it was ****ing annoying to have Bayless in there ruining the action. Would have been interesting to see a non corrupt ref call it and let it play out.

The real question is what would Floyd do if he can't hold and he can't run if he wants to win, and Chino had on his gloves of choice? Maybe he still would have won I don't know. Another meaningless shallow victory for Floyd.

So if Marcos was allowed to use the gloves he usually does, and they fought in a very tiny ring in Argentina with a ref that allowed Marcos to be as active and wild on the inside as he wanted, and Marcos ended up winning the fight wide, would you say it would not have mattered if the factors were different?

Mayweather easily UD Maidana --> users here are making threads about the ref. LOL... The only thing what he effected is the one point deduction to Maidana and that's totally whatever. IMO 118-109, 118-110 would be so better? No. Maidana didn't stand a chance that's all, not because the referee or the gloves or etc... but because he is on another level than Floyd. And I wanted Maidna to win and usally I like Maidana far better than Floyd (because Floyd'spersona, IMO his boxing is great), but these are the facts...
Maidana has become a very good fighter, he would be a threat to anyone around his weight but he was simply not enough for Mayweather.
Even if the referee would be Jesus or Mohammed personally, the outcome of the fight would be the same: an easy May UD. Stop crying already...

not a very exciting fight. Floyd seemed determined to spoil whenever maidana got in close and bayless was happy to let him do it. Maidana came in with the wrong strategy in general. His best shot was to jump on floyd right from the get go like he did in round 4 but he seemed determined to try to outbox floyd instead. imo Garcia gave him the wrong gameplan ... his advantage was being a bit wild, unpredictable and aggressive. Floyd basically set out to Wlad him. As I predicted he would do pre fight.
