I have no issue with Berto getting paid, but.....

The pay grade should always correspond with the grade of the opposition and the level of fight.

The reason we see all these mismatches as of late is because these fighters are getting paid well to fight low grade opponents. Where is the motivation for them to reach higher, when they are getting paid well just to appear in mismatches?

When you wonder why the fights we thirst for are not made, all you need to do is look at the pay scale. The hunger is gone.

haymon is good for boxing doe...do people realize when you pay these bums like berto so much there is no money left over for opponents? hence why he was fighting steve chambers whoever that was. this is a scam.

Yeah pretty much. I cannot believe they dished out 2 million+ on that card. I find it crazy, but it is their money and they will spend it as they please LOL.

That is the reason we do not see the fights we want though. Never offer big money for gimme fights, it will make the tough fights impossible to make.

berto has a special place in haymon's heart. he was the first bum he took from rags to riches. a million dollars to fight freddy hernandez...that was when haymon made his presence known. that was like the bat signal to all fighters.

Berto has taken some real punishment in his career to entertain boxing fans so he deserves this payday even though it was against a C-level opponent. Berto has given us great fights (SotoKaras, Guerrero, Ortiz, Collazo) and he deserves to get paid top $
