Yes, to say it was close is a bit of an understatement. It was a photo finish if this were a 100 metre race.

Even Maidana knows it wasn't close, he admitted to not landing a good solid shot the whole fight. Big G has been honest as well, knowing Maidana couldn't land.

Clean effective punching, effective aggression, ring generalship, and defense. are the criteria to score a fight. And Maidana did very little of either. And the rounds he won were because he completely swamped Floyd and made it impossible for Floyd to do anything but defend. And for me, that qualifies as good ring generalship.
no,i didn't mean it that way,a close fight is what i had it,and was agreeing with the poster to that effect,i'm sure you are an honest man too, sorry it was misconstrued. from a defensive standpoint, mayweather did do well, and if you like that kind of fight,i can see your point of view.I found the aggressive style of maidaina pleasing, and have seen it used by other fighters in the past, and have no issue in calling it effective...but to each his own,my friend.

Not really a tiny detail the basis of the thread is Floyd didn't think the fight was close.

That's always been his stance he hasn't changed it once.

If the thread was about Floyd saying he's fighting Maidana because the fans asked for it then there would be a reason to talk about contradictions.

You can turn any thread about Floyd into a thread about Floyd contradicting himself if we completely change the content and subject.

Notice when people post gifs it is the same 3 or 4 punches landed with a bunch of missed punches mixed in..He made Floyd fight and pressured him but he was not effective..and Floyd needs to stay off the ropes given the illusion he is being effective
