so in other words you dont have evidence. based on your idiotic logic, it should called the 9 count, not the 10 count.
stop sniffing coke with ricky bro.Comment

I dont see how you can feel bad for Ortiz. Im just pissed because I had been looking forward to that fight and seeing Matthysse fight for months. So ya, it ****ings sucks in that aspect. All we got to see is a light sparring session.Comment

no, there isn't a "standard 8 count", there's a "standing 8 count" which almost never gets used in fights
it's where a referee has the ability to see if a fighter is getting blasted but doesn't go down, the ref can step between the two fighters in the middle of the exchange and start counting to 10 to let the fighter recover
this was pretty much replaced not long ago by referee's just stopping the fight right there
there was a recent standing 8 count used in a UK fight, can't remember if it was David Price or somebody elseComment

The referee said 8, 9 and then he waved his hands which signifies 10. He counted to 10.
If he'd waved his hands after 8 then that's a 9 count.
Am I actually explaining this to a human being?Comment

if you're getting up at 9 you should be allowed to continue.
if you're getting up at 10 you should be allowed to continue.
if the ref finished counting to 10, and you're still down, then you stop the fight.
that is the proper 10 count.Comment

it's a fine line between feeling bad for Ortiz & Blaming Benji Esteves vs saying "tough luck, don't put this much faith in the referee and wait to stand up at 9.999 seconds"
it was a bad stoppage in my opinion, but I also blame Ortiz for waiting so long to get upComment

again,
can you show me evidence of your interpretation of the 10 count rule.Comment
