When did I say that? Boxing is a Sport first. Then the business aspect comes to play IMO. Again, what's the point in fighting a rematch for the same money as last time? That wouldn't be good business would it? If they both take the right fights their rematch would be bigger but they are not doing that.Comment

The only people that don't want the fight and are acting like its not a great fight to be made are people that really really don't want to see Danny take a loss.
The first fight Garcia won. But, it was REALLY close, it was a good fight, and the difference came after Matthysse's eye was closed from many people believe was a headbutt, and the iffy KD with Mattyssee hung up on the ropes.
It is a fight that needs to be rematched simply because it was so competitive, and the outcome was decided by something that many find controversial. Plus it was a great fight, so why wouldn't you want to see it happen again?
Danny didn't clearly outclass Lucas, Lucas didn't clearly solve Danny. Its always been rather puzzling watching people run around claiming that Matthysse was somehow exposed, or humiliated or decisively beaten down.
It was a fight that took its toll on both fighters physically. Lucas put hands on Garcia pretty effectively the first half of the fight, then Danny closed his eye, and then Danny started to put hands on Matthysse for the 2nd half of the fight.
A rematch would still be a toss up in my book, as the first fight was, and rightly so.Comment

Lets be honest here, Lucas has beat nobody of note since he lost to Danny. He's so hung up on the loss
Danny fought him and put him on the floor and won convincingly. Would i like to see it again? Yes
Does Danny have to give him a rematch? No
Is Danny chicken? No
Everyone said how scared Danny was and that he would avoid the first fight, and how shook he was ringside when he saw Petterson get ko'd. Danny proved all the ****s wrong and fought Lucas and beat him.
He doesnt owe anyone anything, Lucas fanboys need to get over it
People do it was all kinds of fighters.
The reason everyone was excited about the first fight is because it was against two skilled, powerful practitioners of the sport who were evenly matched in basically every aspect. The fight played out that way as well.
I feel Danny definitely won on points. Does that mean I think he would have won the fight had Mattysse's eye not shut? No...
Thats like saying Israel Vasquez didn't deserve a rematch against Rafael Marquez because his nose was broken in the first fight.
That is nonesense. These two are a perfect match for each other stylistically, and will be in good competitive fights every time they are in the ring together.
There is zero reason for it not to happen again.Comment

Nothing wrong with a rematch. But if Danny decides to move on to bigger fights there is nothing wrong with that nor is he afraid, he already beat Lucas. I think the majority are just tired of Lucas' fan boys screaming for a rematch as if some big injustice was done to their guy. He lost, get over it.Comment

Diery Jean is a better win than both Molina and Ortiz. Kayoing the number 3 guy was great. That's what basically forced that fight. Are you saying that win is supposed to earn him multiple title shots?
Getting dropped by a career LW with no amateur record and taking 11 rounds to get the win does look like ****. Especially since Demarco stopped him in like 30 sec.
Is that real enough for you?
Molina has always had power, is really huge, and made for a good fight. His resume was broadly similar in quality to Mauricio Herrera, so to say that Matthysse hasn't done anything while Garcia has, is at best disingenuous; especially considering that he followed that up with Rod Salka.Comment

It's no wonder that the forums are filled with animosity. Just talk about the sport and stop judging people.
It is not your place.Comment
