I have really think Hopkins might be in deep **** come fight night.

still wouldn't be at all surprised if Hopkins took it on points though he really is a freak of nature and he deserves big time props for taking on such a beast this late on In his great career

Kovalev sets his feet to throw these big power combinations that are slow and predictable. Hopkins will move him and check his balance to control his power.

Kovalev has zero head movement as well, so he is going to get tagged by nard coming in, and nards head all night.

I expect Hopkins vs Pavlik II

To be fair, BHop did beat Calzaghe by any technical measure. Joe got given rounds for throwing punches - not for landing them clean. HBOs punch stats were grossly misleading for that fight. The guy landing all the clean shots was Hopkins. I won't say it was a robbery, but I thought it was poor judging.

However Hopkins is old school. He moves constantly, judges distance immaculately, and gets you thinking before popping you with a lead right and smothering any potential counter. Yes, he fouls. Yes, he ain't "pretty" to watch, but from a 'sweet science' perspective, watching BHop fight is like watching a genius at work. Everything is calculated and planned. Kovalev has seen nothing like it - he's just not that experienced. That's not a knock of Kovalev, but he'll get in there and have to figure out how to pin Bernard down whilst eating solid shots.

Hopkins learnt his trade fighting the likes of Glen Johnson and Roy Jones Jr. Kovalev grew up on Cleverly and Agnew. If he loses, he'll just be a bit of a victim of the lack of depth in modern boxing. He is, however, an excellent fighter.
Dude is ordinary....what's so special about his victims?!?....can't sale bs to those who know the prices...a bunch of testicle cuddle experts have made this Frankenstein cat more dangerous than he Really is....this is not about him but the cuddlers are too caught up in the hype that they can't even see that the boogeyman is irrelevant....yes ladies, Frankenstein is a non factor....this is about BHop vs Father Time....Frankenstein gets a chance to benefit from BHop's birth certificate...nothing more...dude is mad average!!

Also strangely ironic from a guy who appears to have a thing for DSG. If I may speak in cliches... each to their own, but.. people in glass houses...

It won't be a scratch, it will be more like a gash of sorts.

With that being said, Hopkins is correct.

I think this is the night where Hopkins takes the sort of loss you'd expect if a man of his age. He exposes mental weakness in his opponents and I don't think Kovalev has that. The man has killed somebody in the ring and he just keeps on brutalising people.

Let's go BHop, hopefully after this win, that chump Stevenson will step up next.

I think Kovalev has a better shot than many realize. Kovalev is younger, stonger, dangerous puncher and has the advantage of having someone who was once close to Hopkins as his trainer. If Kovalev can keep Hopkins from mauling him all night then he stands a good chance of winning.
