I can't get excited about this. Hopkins will probably try and get Kovalev thrown out.
Would that surprise. a single soul here?
He is a phenom but he's not for me.Comment

My photos are on this site and if i look like a butthurt out of shape middle aged man, then then i don't know what to say.
Jokes on you kiddo. Try again.Comment

Absolutely pure speculation. Until they prove otherwise, they are all guilty.
Guilty until proven innocent i say, with the advance of designer PED's and the archaic drug testing methods employed by the commission.Comment

It is not fair to say Kovalev is ordinary. He punches crisply, almost like shadow boxing, and digs in at the end of the shot - rather than the forceful swing the majority of boxers employ. He puts his shots together very well and has walked through everybody up to world level.
However Hopkins is old school. He moves constantly, judges distance immaculately, and gets you thinking before popping you with a lead right and smothering any potential counter. Yes, he fouls. Yes, he ain't "pretty" to watch, but from a 'sweet science' perspective, watching BHop fight is like watching a genius at work. Everything is calculated and planned. Kovalev has seen nothing like it - he's just not that experienced. That's not a knock of Kovalev, but he'll get in there and have to figure out how to pin Bernard down whilst eating solid shots.
Hopkins learnt his trade fighting the likes of Glen Johnson and Roy Jones Jr. Kovalev grew up on Cleverly and Agnew. If he loses, he'll just be a bit of a victim of the lack of depth in modern boxing. He is, however, an excellent fighter.Comment
