      True.

I should have known that the Mattysse fanbase coupled with the overall negativity towards anything involving Adrien Broner would skew the poll results.

I notice not one person has tried to explain why Ortiz-Matthysse is a better match.

        The Matthysse vs Ortiz fight

Taylor has no power and isn't getting a decision. Its very clear to me at least that fight will be competitive and predictable with Taylor bagging a few earlier rounds and Broner getting stronger down the stretch. Broner UD

Ortiz by eye-test looks a lot better fight than Taylor. Lucas and Massa have big power so its a far more intriguing match for me at least. Ortiz is simply a more dangerous opponent.
Hes very big, he has skills, he is undefeated and done everything right thus far.
I haven't seen much of him but I can tell you he is no mug.
When you have the power of Matthysse though its very possible he could potentially walk through this guy and if he does Massa will get heralded a bum by NSB.

I'll take the high unknown risk over what I think is a predictable drama free routine check.

Unless you're still holding Broner to some high standard he doesn't deserve, that is.
Anything I have to offer would just sound redundant after reading this post.

Broner vs Taylor is going to be a close fight. Anybody can win that one.

Matthysse vs Ortiz is going to be a blow out. Ortiz is getting KTFO.

Broner vs Taylor is the better, more competitive match.

              Thanks for answering.

I just don't see how anyone can say the Ortiz match-up is better having never seen him in with anything other than janitors.

Taylor has at least mixed with and beaten half-decent opposition.

The whole idea of Freedom's thread is that she thought Broner had been matched in an easier fight.

Ortiz may be a slight gamble as no one really knows how good he is but that doesn't make it a better fight IMO. Taylor has proven he can at least compete at a decent level.

                .
This is what it comes down to really, we know what Taylor is and that he can at the very least mix it up even if he's not a big puncher. Ortiz might turn out to be the real deal but we've seen it before where "big punchers' step up the competition and aren't as powerful anymore.

I guarantee mostly all who voted Matthysse/Ortiz have never seen Ortiz fight and are basing their opinion on his KO %, or the fact Broner is an Idiot.

I gotta agree with Dirk on some of his statements. Ortiz hasn't fought anyone relevant however, Lucas has been knocked down 3 times in his last 2 fights. I'm not saying his chin isn't gone at all but he's facing yet another puncher and it may take its toll. This could very well be Ortiz' break-out performance.

On the other hand Broner-Taylor have both fought good opposition. Broner squeaking out his biggest wins. Taylor fought a puncher in Mayfield in his last fight so I think he could withstand Broner's power. Broner's best bet is to smother the smaller Taylor and use his speed on the inside. He can't let Taylor get on the outside cause he'll outbox Broner easily.
