You might know that offence means: 1) A breach of a law or rule; an illegal act; 2) Annoyance or resentment brought about by a perceived insult to or disregard for oneself (according to Oxford Dict.)
... You rather meant offensive, right? [ATTRIBUTIVE] Actively aggressive; attacking...

one thing I've learned from watching BHop throughout his career is....he performs better when he's EXPECTED to lose.....he hasn't been in a fight that he was expected to lose since the Dawson fight....I expect BHop to win CLEARLY....IMO there's a good chance he'll make it look easy as well

I seel Kovalev as being in the same category as guys like Lucas Bute, Matthysse, Randall Bailey and Acelino Frietas. All were considered dangerous knockout artists based on their records -- until they stepped in the ring with a quality opponent and got exposed.

Hopkins will take Kovalev to school the same way he took Kelly Pavlik to school. In the end, Hopkins will win the fight 8-4 in rounds.
It's obvious that you don't have enough data in order to assess top Russian school fighters (like Kovalev or Golovkin). Different breed...
I don't blame you as long as you compare them Bute, Matthysse or Pavlik...

Of that I'm afraid, to be honest...
Those were my first thoughts - how easy would it be to even pull a DQ win from a rabbit punch. The refs always believe Hopkins, and even if they didn't, refs make haphazard decisions by default. That's Kovalev's biggest worry... the cheat game.

As any normal fan of this sport I highly appreciate Hopkins' career and I didn't see any reason for him to take such a fight... But, lately, as I understood that a GBP-HBO reconciliation is on the line I can see that particular reason and I hope that Hopkins and Kovalev will find a way to deal with this situation and find a decent way out...
Are you saying that Hopkins and Kovalev ripping off the fans by "fixing" this fight so that it ends in a technical draw is a decent way out?

I never said something like that.

According to what Hopkins is telling us these recent days, he seems that he plans a clean and spectacular retirement fight -- be be remembered in the history books. But I may be wrong.

That's what I thought he meant. But he also seems to be speculating that maybe, because of the GBP-HBO reconciliation, Kovalev will help Bhop find a way out. And as he wrote that as part of a conversation about a possible technical draw - what he seems to be talking about there is fixing the fight.

You did say something like that Sir, I have quoted you saying it twice now. I asked you politely what you meant by it, but you have chosen to insult me instead of giving an honest reply.
So if you actually know yourself what you were trying to say there, maybe you could enlighten me now?
And I only have one ID here, by the way.

At the age of 50 he is willing to fight anyone, he is a great example of a warrior and a throwback to the real champions of yesteryear...oh yeah he is a champion of yesteryear..........
Amen to this. I already had Hopkins down as an ATG and obviously first nomination HOFer, but he really didn't need to take this fight and has nothing left to prove - except perhaps to himself.

Well, I've foolishly bet against Hopkins before, but on this occasion I'm gonna take make the call again - his recent wins against Cloud, Murat and Shumenov tell us little except that he can outbox guys who are relatively easily outboxed. His last victory of significance was Pascal over 3 years ago, and hell, Pascal isn't really all that.

If anyone can spoil Kovalevs KO streak, though, it's Hopkins, and if he can last through to round 7 or 8 I think there's every chance of the fight going the distance, but if Bernard is gonna last to the end he's gonna have to employ every bit of guile he's picked up in his 25 years in the sport.

I think we're gonna see Hopkins stopped for the first time, but even if it goes to the judges my guess is that Kovalev is gonna sweep the early rounds and Hopkins is really going to have to dominate later to justify a decision win.
