I think Groves has better hand and foot speed, also a much better puncher.

DeGale's fondness for laying on the ropes is going to be an issue for him in this one, I believe he'll get stopped in that very position.

Chavez Jr. should fight Anthony Dirrell. They're both fighters who are only known because they're related to more talented fighters.

Why? Kessler is a faded part-timer at this point. He had his rematch and lost.
Last time I checked it was Froch who had his rematch... 1-1 after 24 rounds of slaughterhouse... Both Groves and Degale are not cut out for these kinds of wars!!

Hearn has not delivered for Carl - he deserves a big American fight not this.
yes, just got a feeling that this could be a bad fight for froch.

Chavez Jr. can make the same amount of money fighting those same fighters under another promoter's banner without signing an extension with Arum.
Arum can not walk away with $15-20 million

If the fight really generates $40million, that means it sold 600k PPV @ $65. Right off the bat you have to take half of that away for network companies. Network companies get half of the PPV revenue. All of a sudden there's $20 million left to go around and there's no way in hell, using common sense, that Arum would walk away with all that is left

And I doubt Chavez Jr-Golovkin actually sells 600k PPV, when the more popular fight, Martinez vs Chavez Jr sold 500k, and nobody knows who Golovkin is enough to pay $65 to watch him fight.

No matter what Chavez shows up, Froch would not "smash" him. I'm not saying he wouldn't win the fight, but if there's one thing Chavez inherited from his father, its the iron-clad chin; kid can take abuse. He's got a pretty heavy hand too. He seems much more dedicated to the sport after his first daughter's birth. Hard to see or evaluate how that translates in the ring because we have not seen him against a quality opponent yet. He defeated Vera quite easily the second time around, but that's admittedly not saying much because he should have never been in a position where he required a rematch against Vera.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I have a lot of faith in Chavez Jr. Perhaps he doesn't deserve it b/c he's been ****ing around too much; but I still think there's something in there worth paying attention to.

I love the cobra but I think you're right. DeGale outpoints a scrappy, unmotivated Froch.

James Degale is very skilled and has sweet counter punching. Especially with Frochy who gets quite reckless at times. This will play in to Degale's hands who also happen to fight well off of the ropes where Carl likes to trap people and smother them.

Also Froch is at the point where he can age over night, so that too has to be factored in.
Yes. Froch also said he's about to lose his legs -- almost two years ago...
But he still hold the first chance in this fight, as DeGale is quite slow and doesn't have Carl's heart...

DeGale would have to employ similar tactics to what Groves did in the 2nd fight which is to try and outpoint him and stay in the middle of the ring, because he doesn't have the power to push him back and hurt him. He just can't make a careless mistake like George did and get caught square with his chin in the air. That loss still annoys me hahaha
