Fantastic showing from Calzaghe tonight, and props are due.

However my big problem is hearing a bunch of gloating and raving like some misconception about Calzaghe has been lifted and eveyone that ever doubted him was wrong.

One good win doesn't change the fact he's been a fight dodging homer who's wasted his entire career up until now.

Great win for him today, but it's one of the 1st significant wins in years, or in his whole career.

It's a shame it took him until he was 34 to make some kind of statement.

You have a questionable guy with more experience vs a younger greener puncher with a ton of chin.

Of course Calzaghe was more dominating, but the win really needs to be kept in perspective.

I didn't make a pick on Peter vs Wlad, and while I thought Lacy would win here tonight, I still think Calzaghe deserves a lot of down grading in the big picture.

33 years old and it's really one of the 1st times he's stepped up, and it took someone coming to his backyard to do so.

He's got a ways to go before he earns some of the respect that's being thrown around so freely.

The bet was a roll of the dice. I said several times over in that thread and others that I thought it was a pickem fight.

That thread came about because the Cooler was upset about all the talk going on, and like a typical nut hugger, he put all the voices upsetting him on to me, and made a thread calling me out about it when I hadn't said a word about the fight.

I maintained Wlad was breakable, but Peter was green, and said I was on the fence.

The bet we made (but those losers pulled out of) was purely a flip of a coin and I said that repeatedly.

Oh and on a side note.

I thought Lacy was god. After watching the fight tonight....I think Calzaghe is god.

As pathetic and naive as that sounds, I've never been more impressed by a single victory. Ever.
