i know what are you talking about. in the first round lucas take a big right hand that rocked him, he goes against the ropes and takes another one. then he goes back at molina immediately. after the first KD molina never hurt him again like that, and they both trade big bombs.

besides, lucas is not a face first brawler like people make him to be. that would be ruslan (i love that dude) but he doesn't move his head and stops everything with his face.

I would say its a combination of the two ... While Mathysse was never what he was being made out to be (on NSB), neither was literally any other boxer who walked the earth, people thought the guy was a LITERAL machine... But he was a very good boxer and the Peterson win had quite a few people scratching their heads (myself included). So yea if he were to start losing in the near future (which I expect) him to, it does diminish the significance of the win for Garcia. But it will always be a really big win given the context and landscape of the division at the time.
