Comments Thread For: Omar Figueroa Retracts Decision, Will Remain at 135

Following a detailed discussion with his team and his promoter, Golden Boy, WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa (24-0-1, 18KOs) had advised the World Boxing Council that he'll continue in the lightweight division, for now.

On Tuesday, Figueroa told the WBC that he planned to vacate his title and move up to 140-pounds, where the unbeaten boxer was hoping to land a shot at the WBC's beltholder at junior welterweight, Danny Garcia. [Click Here To Read More]

I was looking forward to him moving up to 140, I hope he only sticks around at 135 to fight Linares right away and then moves forward with his plan to go to 140.

Haymon can make Linares fight for the 135 title at 140, no problem.

Just a thought: Not that he's done anything lately to warrant a title shot, and because he's my boy and all, but wouldn't Katsidis-Figueroa be fucking sick?
