canelo did as much or around as much to fight angulo [both guys coming off of losses,] as cotto did to fight martinez, the middleweight champion of the world.


he's a much bigger draw.

Everyone knows Mexicans bring the $$ to boxing including the PPV numbers. You had canelo and angulo plus Leo Santa Cruz all on the same card and still only did as many as cotto vs martinez. Really that's a complement to cotto and martinez.
But really numbers mean fu@k all to me. I just think cotto has more options and still make big money whereas canelo's options are limited to make huge $$$

I heard that after the Floyd fight, Canelo had a 3 fight deal on SHO

So this is what I think is gonna happen

Canelo is gonna finish up his SHO contract this year against Kirkland

Cotto is gonna fight Bradley on HBO in December

Next May, Cotto is gonna fight Canelo in MSG for the 160 titles on HBO

Cotto will be the A-Side and get a guaranteed $10 million plus PPV's. Canelo will get around $8 mill guaranteed with PPV's

This makes sense for both fighters cuz Floyd always underpays his opponents. They would make more money fighting each other than fighting Floyd again

But you just look from one viewpoint and you want to realize just the negative things of Canelo and you don't pay attention to the positive things, sorry but that is hater logic. Canelo is one of the very few fighters who really looking for the challeges. Since this fact I really don't give a fuck that he fought at cw on his last two fights it didn't influence the fights and I don't think that Lara wasn't a big challenge just because Canelo was 155 not 154 LOL.

2: The weight limit was 155 for Lara as well

So Canelo level of competition and his willing to fight even the high risk, low reward fights is a far bigger positive than the cw is a negative. So IMO bitching about the cw and just look at that, avoid the fact that he's looking for challenges is hatersim. Or you say that Lara wasn't even a big challenge or high risk just because the weight limit was 155 not 154? I hope you don't...

And Cotto isn't an original MW but if he wants the Canelo fight and Canelo wants it too then why not? It's big-big money fight and Cotto - though he isn't an original MW - hardly can be considered as a cherrypick... Not named Golovkin tell me one fighter who would be a bigger challenge from 160 to him than Cotto. I'm curious. Sturm? Soliman? Quillin who even struggled very hard with Rosado? Or who do you think?

I don't think it will happen, GBP may be with Showtime, but Floyd is their Cash Cow for the next 3 fights, NOT Canelo, I think it's funny Canelo is trying to shove Floyd out of the Cinco De Mayo weekend because he's not Mexican lmao, ain't happenin, I'm sure Showtime will fight that, and not try and put on a card that matches. Besides if the fight were to happen I'm sure both networks would show the fight like they did when Lewis fought Tyson. But I hope Floyd ****s Canelo and offers Cotto way more money for a fight in May

Cinco De Mayo? Fighting on that weekend will force Showtime/Mayweather to create a mega fight and undercard to compete with that main event.

count on Cotto what ever it takes 4 Bradley, a safe fight, vs a non-puncher smaller guy...his fight after that will b vs a same type, not dangerous guy...he takes the Alvarez fight & retires...don't even think Kirkland, GGG, or even Jacobs, they hit 2 hard 4 Cotto 2 take a chance, IMO...

Cotto by UD or Canelo by knockout. I believe Canelo's chin is good enough to hold up to Cotto's power. But I do believe Cotto is the better boxer and will make a great matchup.
