I'm sorry, but any grown adult who believes in a mythical being/god and talks to this "god" in his head via prayer, then I have to consider this person delusional. There's no other explanation.

Maybe you should follow another sport then because 99% of the boxers on this planet believe in some sort of God, including everyone in your avi.

No different to believing in Zeus - but modern-day religious people laugh at the thought of believing in Zeus, it's really only a matter of time before everyone will laugh at those who believed in the gods of our time. It's really crazy that people are still dumb enough to do that! No offense but it's true.
The change will be way in the future. It's gradually happening though. Many of the younger offspring of parents who are Christian, ******, etc, possess less of the beliefs as their parents. And in this information age, it's accelerating faster.

But it still takes time. For most, the reason why it persists is because they got conditioned into it as kids. By that time, it's a fully developed habit that is extremely hard to grow out of.

btw im atheist, but dont look down on people because of their beliefs. Many of them are better people than myself.
To single out one aspect of who they are and use it to belittle them is silly imo.
Many of the greatest boxers have faith. Why overlook everything they have achieved in such a tough sport and insult them for their beliefs?
Like most boxing fans, if you met them in real life you would be slobbering all over them.
An excellent post. Perceptive and very educated.

What one believes is entirely their business. I don't believe in religions, but I respect all who do, or don't. I like being a free spiritualist, meaning I believe in God completely and utterly, without needing a guidance from some organized religion. I can't imagine my life without thanking God everyday for the abundance I am blessed with.

          Thank you.

I dont follow the sport due to one's belief system. I'm a fan of hand to hand/one on one combat. If they want to believe in an invisible god then that's their problem. Whatever helps them sleep at night.

It's not so much that they are delusional. It's more like they were 'misled'. I blame their teacher(s). That logic and mindset was taught to them at very early ages.

I know a guy who's brother told him that their father is an ALIEN. And to prove it, his brother showed him his father's U.S. green card where it says ALIEN on the ID card with his father's photo. So for years, when he was a kid, he believed his father was an alien.

Atheism is rising, but it is a temporary rise in rich nations with low fertility rates, countries with the highest fertility rates have very high levels of religiosity. So I'm not sure about the future of fairy tale belief in this world..

Oh so they're the ones with the problem for believing god? Hmm, interesting. Looks like the only one with a problem is you, don't label boxers "delusional" for their beliefs.
