Comments Thread For: 30-Day WBC Weights: Mayweather 150, Maidana 158

The World Boxing Council reports that both of the combatants for September 13th rematch on Showtime Pay-Per-View, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana, had no problems at their 30-day weigh-in.

Mayweather, who walks around near his fighting weight, was 150-pounds - 3 pounds away from the welterweight limit of 147. And Maidana certainly walks around as the bigger man, coming at 158-pounds - 11 pounds away from the division limit.

158...interesting. That always has seemed to be his ideal weight...

Thurman really thinks he's a "true WW" when really most 147 pounders go back up to 156-160...excluding Pacquiao Marquez & Floyd (Floyd & Marquez are getting bigger these days though) the only reason they are still there is they are so much better than the competition.

Floyd still cutting weight for these 30 day weigh ins I see.

Guy cuts from 168 lbs just to make people think he walks around at 150 lbs.

Can people now stop saying Floyd walks around at 150 for the love of god! He's not 30 anymore...He does not work out 8 hours a day between fights regardless of what people believe. I will say he does a really good job of not bloating up on fight night which I think has been key in his longevity. I do think Maidana should have been around 152 right now, since that's the weight he plans to be at on fight night. I'd be very interested tho to see what these guys weigh a month after the fight.

Maidana is gonna barely make weight (obviously on purpose) taking that bulk/power approach. He knows he needs the KO to win.

He probably walks around 155-160 max, I remember when he was retired for those 2 years, and did the wwe thing with the big show, he weighed in 159 with clothes on.
