In his weekly chat on 8/8 Dan said cotto's fight in Dec. has to be ppv because HBO has expended most of its budget. They just moved the Bhop/Kov fight up from Nov 8 to Nov 1.

They are getting good ratings with the low budget so its not really an issue.

At least they're not losing money unlike SHO. They stay on budget and still get good ratings.

Schaefer and Haymon took all their fighters to SHO, fighters that HBO built up. You gotta be a moron to expect HBO do miracles with that kind of disadvantage.

The bigger joke is, despite of the advantage SHO have, they failed to make fights fans expected them to make. All they wanna do are Salka types of fights. It became clear that Haymon fighters will not fight each other.

And HBO still beat them last year. And we all know that SHO's rep is at an all time low right now. They have become a JOKE network.

Their ratings aren't exactly stellar. This is a down year for them ratings wise as well.

How does a a moment of inactivity make it a joke? when they put on shows at least its good and competitive fights, for the most part.

HBO has been doing great since the beginning of last year. we're arguably getting two matchup of the years on regular HBO this year: gamboa-crawford, kovalev- hopkins. among others. jennings-perez. geale-golovkin, etc.

Yeah, true. I don't think its a huge issue but I am surprised HBO's budget is exhausted so quick. Despite what idiots like JoeMan that try and claim otherwise. I wonder if the low ppv sales contributed in any way to this?

The Cotto fight on ppv sucks because I'm not paying to see Andy Lee in a main event.

exactly. HBO always gives the fans quality fights. none of these danny vs salka level mismatches.
