Didnt see that coming. Good to see Quillen get a good payday. I'm not a fan of Jay Z and how he does business so it'll be good if some boxers get some good paydays from it but I'd be lying if I said I wish him success in this venture.

Top Rank's $515k would have been perfect for this bout. If Jay-Z wants to give his money away he's not going to last long in this sport.

Agree with you that TR gave the most reasonable offer for this fight. but if people want to overpay then it is what it is. Seems like Quillen was in the right place at the right time.

It's amazing how ****** rich some of these rappers are given the fact that they're completely devoid of any real musical talent.

It removes the incentive to challenge themselves or take on the best.
Quillin now looks completely vindicated in avoiding the top names in the division and that's wrong.

you just come across as someone who's bitter because you don't like Quillen and mad at the fact he got a decent payday. Kind of feminen in my opinion .
Has Quillens opposition been top notch. No but Guerrero, Rosado, N'dam are decent names their not Salka level Tomato cans as you say.
It's kind of ironic a fan of Calzaghe complaining about a fighter holding onto a belt and not "challenging " themselves ,fighting less then stellar competition and not chasing elite competition as soon as they got the belt.
I'm not even a real Quillen fan but judge his resume when it's over. Does he appear cautious yeah but he's no different then most belt holders that Don't have built up name. I mean if your a attraction in the sport ,belts are essentially useless, your still going to get paid but with no real drawing power that belts helps you get some decent $. Quillen will eventually have to prove his worth but being salty over another mans pockets is lame.

What's ironic is stating that you're pleased that an undeserving chump like Quillin is making good money and then turning around and lecturing others about being too concerned with what boxers are making.

It's not a decent payday, it's a whopping payday for a fighter that doesn't even headline and it completely justifies his policy of not taking risks or fighting the best.
It's not the money itself, it's the principle of boxers being rewarded for protecting records and deliberately opting to fight weak opposition.
Gary Russell Jr did the exact same thing, Wilder's doing it, Berto did it for years. It's fraudulent bull**** and they're getting away with it.

I wasn't saying he's too concerned but My opinion is being negative about another mans pocket whether you feel he deserves it or not is a lame feminen perspective. Judging from your response you probably fall under that category too.
