Manny hasn't stopped anybody in 5 years. That includes much smaller fighters than Brook.

Yes he would catch Porter coming in and sometimes going out, but nothing of consequence, just enough to win the fight. Do you think Porter would be able to smother Mayweather, Pac, Marquez, Bradley, any legit power puncher, or some one with speed and boxing ability? I am aware you will not agree with this because you are a Brook fan, I've seen quite a few of your posts. Nothing wrong with being a Brook fan, I like him, but it is undeniable that you wont see the fight the same way as someone whos not a fan.

Also I did not complain about either fighters tactics or fouls, I laid out the fight as I saw it and as I said I dont believe Brook is that good, if you read my post you would see that I said the same about Porter, his lack of a game plan other then bull rush in, Porter's inability to adjust was far more revealing. At least Brook had enough of a mind to hold. Based on all the fights I have seen of Brook's, including this one, I dont believe he has a long run as a champ. Could I be wrong, of course but probably not.
We're all entitled to our opinion, but my definition of boxing IQ would be: adapting to the situation; employing a strategy that nullifies the opponents strengths while allowing you to apply your own in order to win. That's exactly what Kell did.

Porter was dirty. He tried to upset Brook's natural rhythm with dirty tactics. He continuously rabbit punched and rubbed his head into the cut that he had already open with a headbutt. The ref saw this and did nothing to reprimand, but warned Brook nearly every time his punches landed on the back of the head.

Brook is normally slick. He's a boxer rather than a fighter. A cleaner fight would have massivley favoured Brook and probably resulted in Shawn getting KO’d. But, if the other guy is dirty you do whatever’s needed to get the win. It may not be pretty but it’s a fight and winning is everything.

You just can’t accept that Porter failed to live up to the hype. His limitations were exposed by Brook. Time will tell how good Brook is, but he took charge in this fight and very obviously deserved the win.

Brook is usually an attractive fighter to watch. He moves well and throws plenty of clean accurate punches. But Porter negated Kel's boxing skills with his sheer strength and bull-rushing tactics, the same way he did with Alexander and Paulie. Brook adapted and, like the guy said, he did what he had to do to win.
Against a different opponent you will see a different Kel Brook.

What do you mean "you just can't accept that porter failed to live up to the hype"? Are you reading my posts at all or just reading the part where I say Brooks not that good, cause he's not. I said I have never been impressed by either fighter. They both are overrated and not that good. If you consider Brook to be better then Porter that's fine but it's not by much because if Brook was that much better then Porter then he should have looked way better in that fight, and he didn't.

              Pac/Brook unification in UK.
Mayweather vs Cotto II (for whatever belts) ??

Final match: Pac vs Mayweather. Drop all the belts, fight for the glory.

Brook may have a couple of options of a decent payday, but I don't see him fighting Manny or Floyd anytime soon. If he wants a shot at either one of those 2, he needs to beat a top level fighter to prove he deserves a shot. I think his best options for that would be against someone like Bradley, Khan, or Marquez. Out of those 3, he should choose Marquez and hope he gets old in the ring fast. I really don't see him beating Khan, and Bradley would make him look like an amateur.

Poor JMM. Brook is not thinking about him.

JMM left out in the cold once more... His fault for losing to Bradley. Now he is in the back of the line again.

Marquez thinks he's entitled to another title shot. He lost to Bradley so he has to earn another title shot.

Ducking Provo and facing/beating Alvarado doesn't merit another title shot. If he goes through another soft touch and avoids tougher fights, he shouldn't get another shot... period.

Brook needs to go for the cash now. 1 loss and he may very well blow his opportunity for a big Payday.

Fight Khan... if he wins, go straight to Floyd or PAC. 2 fights should net him around 10 million.
