Kell Brook has a lot of options right now, I say he fights Juan Manuel Marquez in England for big bucks then goes after Pacquiao in a April clash and Mayweather will probably fight Khan in May.

i'm not sold on kell brook. for one he held all through the fight and i don't think he did enough to when. porter kept hurting him with body shots and brooks held even more. I wanna see a rematch.

No way would Porter have given Brook a shot if he wasn't mandatory, so why should Brook give anything to Porter? Porter needs to work himself back into a mandatory position. Plus Brook won convincingly against a guy that was allowed to rabbit punch the back of his head all night long. Porter's solid enough but lacks the skill to be a world champ. That is all, get over it and stop crying.

Brook-Porter, Neither fighter was impressive, and till this day I have never been impressed nor sold on either fighter. Sloppy fight which is Porters style, Brook sometimes looked to be lost, and holding someone as your main strategy shows a lack of skill and boxing IQ. Porter didn't look any different, just too short and a lack of game plan or the inability to implement/adjust game plan through out the fight. Brook lands a clean straight here and there guess that's enough to win him the round, but Brook showed an inability to keep the smaller man off of him, allowing his offense to be smothered only landing some straights as Porter lunged in. I really dont think Brook is going to do well against the bigger Welterweights, he couldnt keep the smaller Porter off of him, he will have a difficult time with Thurman, Khan, Pac, Rios, Garcia, Maidana, Matysse. Hes to slow, and doesn't have enough power to even remotely threaten Mayweather. I dont think Brook's time at the top of the division will be long lived.

Not a knock on him, I just dont think hes that good. Cant wait to see what happens next.

All Porter did was rush Brook thinking he could smoother him and take away his jab. Holding was a valid way to counter. It meant Porter had to pull away and for a moment he'd be vulnerable while moving backwards. To me that seems like a solid enough way to deal with Porter's style and actually shows plenty of boxing IQ (as you put it).

Complaints could be made from either camp re-tactics such as rabbit punching, etc. But the truth is Brook got the better of Porter and obviously stunned him on two occasions. The expression on Porter's face between the latter rounds was visibly disheartened. He simply didn't have an answer for what he thought was going to be an easy win. It's simply not the mark of a champion and people should stop calling foul of Brooks technique unless they're going to also mention Porter's questionable tactics.

well its a valid way to counter if you cant figure or do anything else about it. Holding as a strategy shows a lack of skill and boxing IQ no matter how you would like to spin it, Brook held because he did not have the skill to keep Porter off of him, he didnt hold then release to create space, he had no control of the fight and allowed himself to be constantly smothered. Yes he would catch Porter coming in and sometimes going out, but nothing of consequence, just enough to win the fight. Do you think Porter would be able to smother Mayweather, Pac, Marquez, Bradley, any legit power puncher, or some one with speed and boxing ability? I am aware you will not agree with this because you are a Brook fan, I've seen quite a few of your posts. Nothing wrong with being a Brook fan, I like him, but it is undeniable that you wont see the fight the same way as someone whos not a fan.

Also I did not complain about either fighters tactics or fouls, I laid out the fight as I saw it and as I said I dont believe Brook is that good, if you read my post you would see that I said the same about Porter, his lack of a game plan other then bull rush in, Porter's inability to adjust was far more revealing. At least Brook had enough of a mind to hold. Based on all the fights I have seen of Brook's, including this one, I dont believe he has a long run as a champ. Could I be wrong, of course but probably not.

I suggest you watch the fight again

Porter was pretty much exposed with a jab

Only shots porter landed were rabbit punches in the clinch it was some wwe **** not boxing

Best man won on the night

I'd be very interested in Pacquiao-Brook, very interested indeed.

I think it should be Khan or JMM next, setting up a major fight.

Translation: Eddie Hearn is going to pack out an arena for a showcase fight for Brook against a bum. He's had 32 of them, he's finally on the world stage, put him in with a live dog and prove those new credentials!! Annoying.
