Garcia is lineal champ at 140, Broner hasn't even beaten a real 140 pounder yet.

Garcia is undefeated, Broner just got his ass kicked.

Garcia is moving up to 147 and Broner is staying at 140.


This is a pointless fight and if these two didn't have name value it should be criticized because Broner has no business fighting for the lineal title at 140. Just because its 2 popular fighters with recognizable names doesn't make it right. It should happen when one guy is champion and the other is the #1 contender or if both of them are contenders fighting for a shot at the #1 guy.

There is no easier title with Broner involved, if you can't have an easy time with Malignaggi who everybody on a world level trashes then there is no easy belt for you. So he's not gonna have an easier time with either Mauricio or Viktor but he's not going to fight the champs in Peterson or Danny. I don't believe he'll fight Mathysse. Watch Al Haymon do his job, that's who you're cheering for anyway.

When a champion vacates, the #1 and #2 contenders fight for the vacant title. So if Danny vacates the #1 and #2 for the WBC belt are Matthysse and Postol. Jessie Vargas is the WBA champion so he can't win that title without fighting Vargas.

In other words he HAS to fight Matthysse or Postol to win a title. They aren't just going to give it to him.
