As was recently reported on BoxingScene.com, Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-2, 40KOs) is very interested in facing the winner of Saturday's fight between IBF champion Shawn Porter and mandatory challenger Kell Brook.

Marquez, 40-years-old, will be ringside for Porter-Brook at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The former four division champion will be working the corner of Daniel Estrada, who challenges WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa on the card.



Marquez also likes the idea, but first the 40-year-old veteran wants to determine if he intends to continue his career.

"I would love to fight in Mexico with Porter or Brook. Both are great fighters, it would be a great fight with both. We have to see if the promoters are willing to negotiate. But [first I have to decide if I plan to] continue in this sport," said Marquez. [Click Here To Read More]

That's good to hear. Hopefully it goes down later this year.

It'd be awesome to see Marquez win a world title as a trainer with Estrada on Saturday, win a world title in his 5th division against Porter later this year, and then retire.

Man you gotta laugh the hate for Arum is stronggggggggggg. Here's a tidbit Marquez has a parent promoter...it's not bob arum....it's....ZANFER PROMOTIONS. If Bob had all the rights to Marquez we would be seeing jmm vs pacquaio 5 but we aren't are we. So yes this fight can happen and likely will happen as it's marquez best shot at a title against someone other than Pacquaio at 147..we know floyd ain't fighting him again either.

He's not gonna fight Mayweather who has the WBC and WBA welterweight titles. He's not trying to lose the feeling of knocking out Pacquiao, so the HBO, I mean WBO title is outta the picture. That just leaves Porter and his IBF belt. I'll be down for this fight if it gets made.
