What does your top 10 HW all time look like?

One of my friends was talking about who he thinks is the top 10 HW all time and his list was so ridiculous that I couldn't take it serious. He's a casual boxing fan tho so I understand why he's so all over the place but it made me wonder what most of your top 10 HW All time would be. Mine is as follows:

From his top 100 list he has the Heavyweights in this order.

    1- Muhammad Ali
    2- Joe Louis
    3- Jack Johnson
    4- Jack Dempsey
    5- Rocky Marciano
    6- Ezzard Charles
    7- Larry Holmes
    8- Lennox Lewis
    9- George Foreman
    10- Joe Frazier

Good list, except I would put Joe Luis ahead of Ali. He holds the heavyweight record still for 25 title defenses at that weight class and it still hasn't been broken yet at heavyweight. And I don't care if it was against the bum of the month club.

Plus, I don't care how much heat I take for this I would replace Holmes with Tyson. Other than this I like your list.

He makes a great case for it.

        Do you disagree?

          Sugar Ray Robinson

          Hopkins is my favourite fighter

But you can't just look at number of title defences
Use the eye test to gauge how a fighter would have done against other fighters in previous eras,

Dude, I not only have Sugar Ray Robinson as a great middleweight but to me the greatest fighter of all time and even past greats agree ( Ali) thus holding a lot more weight than just being the greatest middleweight.

This is today's version. Not including active fighters, so Klitschko could potentially miss out.

              1. Muhammad Ali
              2. Joe Louis
              3. Jack Johnson
              4. Larry Holmes
              5. George Foreman
              6. Jack Dempsey
              7. Evander Holyfield
              8. Joe Frazier
              9. Sonny Liston
              10. Lennox Lewis
              11. Mike Tyson
              12. Rocky Marciano

.... And then you have the Charles, Norton, Tunney, Walcott, jeanette, Vitali, Langford, Wills etc coming after that.

Hopkins does not make a case for greatest middleweight of all times!

                Not in this world anyway.

                  Really?

Sugar Ray Robinson aside based on sheer accomplishments who has at this moment?

Good list! Résumé wise, I have it a little different (I.e. Foreman further up; Marciano and Johnson down).

H2H lists are harder to put together, of course - and super contentious on NSB!
